Job Overview
Senior Project Lead is accountable for management and delivery of Fund Operations components of a complex portfolio of projects. Book of work may include global and regional Technology-related and internal transformation initiatives, as well as mandatory, regulatory or client projects. Role includes exposure to Clients, Product, Technology and Operations’ senior stakeholders. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas, and occasionally external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business. Responsible for handling staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project.
In this role, you’re expected to:
Manage and drive day-to-day delivery of multiple programs, incl. planning, monitoring, control and executing to milestones and budget.
Train/manage/develop Change professionals within site and wider Change structure
Manage stakeholders and key organizations in order to build and manage relationships with each.
Drive adherence to global project governance processes, methods, and standards for project delivery, and leverage across the managed portfolio.
Ensure local Change staff/site compliance with applicable laws, regulations and Citi policies; including adherence with Citi program and project management procedures and guidelines.
Active engagement in site strategy initiatives and its promotion with stakeholders
As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:
At least 10 years relevant project/program management experience, preferred experience in running large programs of work for Funds Services or Investor/Securities Services
Operations, Technology or Product experience & expertise in Funds Services and specifically areas like Fund Accounting, Transfer Agency, Middle Office
At least 5-10 years’ experience in leading and developing project teams/professionals through dynamic growth and delivering measurable benefits in risk reduction, efficiency and client satisfaction.
Extensive relationship building, influence and stakeholder management skills
Executive presence; ability to have voice heard
Good working knowledge of: project methodologies and tools, MS Project, MS Excel and PowerPoint
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the day to day management of executing to milestones and budget on multiple complex projects.
- Identify stakeholders and key organizations in order to build and manage relationships with each.
- Direct the creation of multiple work projects and manage their alignment to business goals.
- Lead the facilitation, coordination, and arbitration of cross-functional macro level topics within/across projects and with Senior Management.
- Lead the identification and drive resolution of issues, including those outside established projects of work.
- Work with stakeholders to ensure project scope definition meets business objectives.
- Work with Project Sponsor to ensure business case/cost benefit analysis is in line with business objectives.
- Drive adherence to project processes, procedures, methods, and standards for project delivery and leverage across the project.
- Assist project team in negotiating for resources owned by other departments in order ensure the project can be completed.
- Direct the communication of status, issue, and risk disposition to all stakeholders, including senior management, on a timely basis.
- Direct the identification of risks which impact project delivery and ensure mitigation strategies are developed and executed when necessary. Escalate program risks to the Program Director, or Program Sponsor, when appropriate.
- Apply advanced and comprehensive understanding of concepts and procedures within own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issues that have impact beyond own area.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years relevant experience
- Must have a clear understanding of the firm's different businesses and the related economics. Must be a subject matter expert in multiple or specific skill sets, business areas or products.
- PMP or Prince 2 Qualification
- Agile and Lean Six Sigma
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
