This position will join the Treasury Investment Management System (TIMS) team under the Treasury Chief Operating Office supporting the design and development of quantitative analytics and decision support systems. The TIMS Team operates and advances a central multi-asset platform gathering and organizing daily activity and valuation for all Treasury positions. The TIMS platform enables automated business intelligence and decision support analytics for all Treasury disciplines.

A successful Lead Analyst will participate in fast iteration prototyping and buildout of analytical capabilities, generally analyzing changes in billions of dollars of exposures and position flows. Any technical and engineering skills the candidate can bring to bear will be valuable. This includes Excel analytical functions, Python capabilities, Data model structured methodologies (including any SQL query capabilities) and ability to conceptualize data-driven solutions.  The efforts are very structured and disciplined at the finish line, but require innovative and flexible, imaginative thinking in the design and prototyping stage.  None of these things are hard requirements for this role, but all the members of the Analytics team have engineering and/or computer science foundations so the expectation is that the candidate will have comfort and interest in working with colleagues who have deep experience in technical financial areas.

As a member of our technical client support team this individual will partner with senior team members to deliver data-driven reporting analytics independent of monthly software development release cycles.  The efforts and projects this group works on have senior exposure, and are part of enabling next-gen capabilities for Citi Global Treasury.

The individual will be responsible for working across stakeholder groups to define, develop, test and implement requirements within the TIMS platform.

To be successful the candidate should have a basic comfortable familiarity with interest rate concepts (accrued interest, bond coupons and yields, discounting to compute valuations); and various financial products and risks (bonds, derivatives, forwards et al).  Also the candidate should know what a hedge is and how it behaves relative to an underlying position.  Familiarity with basic Accounting concepts (e.g. what is a Balance Sheet?  What is P&L, What is Capital) is necessary.  Expert level fluency in these things is not required at this level but appetite to aggressively learn and master the three main components of our activities is necessary.  The three components of our business activity are:

Financial Product and Risk operations associated with Global Treasury;

Project Management and disciplined data-driven execution of strategic capabilities that sustain and advance world-class Financial capabilities; and,

Technology system design, implementation and management focused on increasing productivity, stability, and velocity all at the same time)

Requires superior communication and organization skills to coordinate between multiple stakeholders to ensure completeness of functionality.

A strong candidate for this role requires an in-depth understanding and experienced use of the Project Management toolkit responsible for project communication, cost, integration, quality, risk, scope and stakeholder management. Scrum Master certified is a plus.

Financial knowledge of Cost Accounting, Derivatives and Treasury Operating model is also required.

Technical experience utilizing tools such as Atlassian Jira, SQL and/or Python is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop relations with business and finance partners to understand business requirements.

  • Produce and maintain integrity of project deliverables within Jira such as business requirements, logistical diagrams, and test plans.
