The Markets Transformation team is currently recruiting for a hybrid Business Analyst/Project Manager at VP level to support a 3-year Global Reconciliation Transformation Program. The role will work in partnership with operations teams and technology partners across APAC, EMEA and North and South America. The role requires a good understanding of basic Finance and Accounting principles (i.e. reconciliations, journal entry preparation, month-end close, balance sheet substantiation), Markets products and operational processing as well as project management practices and discipline.
Responsibilities:
Manages a set of assigned projects, development of plans, tracking progress of deliverables on the plan, performing analysis as part of issue resolution, ensuring all project delivery documentation is in place, to the required standard and signed off.
Partner with Line Operations teams to ensure all the correct metrics and controls are in place, with regular reviews to ensure monitoring remains relevant and effective
Foster and maintain relationships with business and technology stakeholders and /or other team members and engaged in working groups, steercos, and workshops where required.
Works with stakeholders to ensure program scope definition meets operations objective, ensuring requirements are clearly documented are strategic and are well understood by all stakeholders and Technology.
Works with stakeholders to ensure requirements are backed by a business case/cost benefit analysis is in line with business objectives and that there are trackable, tangible benefits with associated KPIs.
Leads the identification and drives resolution of issues, including those outside of the immediate workstream within their remit.
Drives adherence to program processes, procedures, methods, and standards for program delivery as defined by Citi PM standards.
Proactively manages the communication of status, issue, and risks to the Sponsor and key stakeholders on a timely basis.
Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy and can operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
6-10 years relevant Finance and/or Accounting experience as a Business Analyst and/or Project Manager capacity
Prior industry experience and/or Big-4 background is a plus
Experience as finance professional / background / degree and working experience in financial accounting and the operational aspects
Consistently reads different situations accurately and takes appropriate action to gain senior colleague/ client commitment
Strong Leadership skills-Operates as a leader
Demonstrated ability to make sound judgment calls on issues that can be both quantitative and qualitative in nature
Fully knowledgeable on the day-to-day activities of a product or process; Basic understanding of the firm's different businesses and the related economics; Individual is expected to be subject area expert in one (or more) specific skill sets
Possesses a comprehensive understanding of how own area and others collectively integrate to contribute towards achieving business objectives
Education:
Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred
