The Services Payments Operations function supports several Payments Product delivery processes globally across Citi’s Services business. One of the core products in payments is Cross Border Payments which enables clients to move money across countries in an efficient, seamless manner. This function strives to a) Make Payments Operations processes a competitive advantage; (b) Drive efficient, agile technology and processes (c) Drive towards a strategic operating model across Services lines of business (d) Build strong risk / controls focus, ensure minimal surprises and (e) Deliver on all targeted improvement programs.

Role:

The Worldlink Operations Head role is a critical role in the Global Cross Border Payments Operations organization. This role serves as the senior Services Operations manager directly managing a team of process specialists across the globe responsible for efficient operation of Worldlink, which is a premier Cross Border payment product, with a market leading position within payment providers. As the Operations head of this product and the manager of a global team, this role will be responsible to provide best-in-class service to clients while maintaining risk levels within the firm's risk appetite and protecting the franchise in a manner consistent with the Citi policies and risk framework.



Key Activities​:

  • Manage day to day processing activities of Worldlink Payments processing at Hubs globally and ensure all processes are performed in accordance with policies, procedures and exceed OKRs laid out by management.

  • Partner with Business Management to ensure alignment with Product and Sales strategy through this partnership, ensure Operations is enabling the business strategy and through proactive improvements, provide a competitive edge to the business.

  • Develop proactive operational and client insights to intelligently utilize operational data to identify opportunities for enhancing the product capabilities and client experience.

  • Ensure a robust risk and control framework; work closely with Risk & Control partners to ensure management self-assessments, corrective action plans, and other Risk and Control deliverables are completed on time.

  • Collaborate with Client Service Teams to ensure client escalations are addressed in a timely manner and such instances are minimized over time.

  • Perform proactive reviews to prevent processing issues, prevent failures in controls, identify root causes of issues, oversee remediation efforts, and ensure sustainability of such efforts. Represent Worldlink Operations on critical internal audit, compliance and regulatory matters as required.

  • Manage staff performance and drive continuous improvement of process quality and productivity targets.

  • Oversee quality reviews and results, budget, policy formulation, and planning.

  • Lead and drive employee engagement and career development of teams in the global Worldlink Operations Organization.

  • Continuously review processes and drive operational efficiency.

  • Own and resolve highly complex and varying issues that have substantial potential impact across clients and various processing teams across the globe.

  • Collaborate with internal areas including: Sanctions, Control Functions, FinCrime Functions, and In-Business Risk to address compliance issues which may impact Worldlink  business, products and procedures and ensures learnings are deeply embedded across Operations teams.

  • Manage multiple teams including remote teams and provide support to peers in other processing centers.

  • Stay abreast of relevant changes to Citi policies, identify impact of such changes on Services procedures and proactively work with internal teams globally to adopt such changes in a manner that is consistent with policies and is sustainable in the long run.

Education level and/or relevant experience(s):

  • Experience in Transaction Banking products and operations, managing regulatory / compliance discussions.
  • Knowledge and understanding of End to end Payments lifecycle and processing activities is a must.
  • Experience of dealing with and influencing cross functional teams, experience in handling policies, issues.
  • 15+ years of relevant regional and/or global experience in a financial institution.
  • Bachelor degree in any subject would be preferred.
  • An advanced degree (e.g. Master's, MBA or Accounting) would be an advantage.
