Team/Role Overview

The Lead Appian Developer is part of the Issuer Services Technology global management team. This role leads an experienced engineering team to implement new or revised application systems in coordination with the Issuer Services Technology team. 

The Issuer Services business has aggressive business growth goals for the next 3-5 years and has made considerable additional investments in Technology, including quadrupling the size of the technology organization during the past few years. This role is critical to ensure our project oversight and delivery of solutions to the Operations and the Front Office businesses are best in class and scalable to continue supporting growth within the business and our internal technology organization. 

What you’ll do

An ideal candidate has a passion for leadership with a strong capability in leading and directing our development teams. As a Lead Appian Developer, you will design, develop, and implement enterprise-level applications using the Appian low-code platform. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable BPM solutions, optimize workflows, and mentor junior developers. Expertise in Appian’s suite, technical leadership, and a focus on innovation are critical for success in this role.

Design & Development:

  • Architect and build Appian applications (Process Models, SAIL interfaces, CDTs, Reports, Integrations).  
  • Develop custom plugins, integrations, and reusable components.  

Collaboration:

  • Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.  
  • Lead code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices (security, scalability).  

Testing & Deployment:

  • Debug, test, and deploy solutions; troubleshoot post-production issues.  
  • Optimize Appian app performance and automate deployments via DevOps tools.  

Mentorship & Documentation:

  • Guide junior developers and create technical documentation.  

Innovation:

  • Stay updated on Appian features and recommend process improvements.  

What we’ll need from you:

  • Extensive IT industry experience and hands on exp in Appian development is a must, including end-to-end project delivery.  
  • Mastery of Appian components (Process Models, SAIL, CDTs, Integrations).  
  • Proficiency in REST/SOAP APIs, SQL, and database design.  
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).  
  • Appian Lead Developer or Senior Developer certification preferred.  
  • Experience of Java, JavaScript/Angular 
  • Experience with Spring / ORM framework, and database 
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.  
  • Provide strategic influence and exercise control over resources, budget management and planning while monitoring delivery and end results 
  • Confirmed experience of crafting and delivering successful complex solutions in an enterprise production environment. 
  • Experience in working on multiple technologies and medium to complex systems, well versed with design standards and framework. 
  • Superb communication, great verbal and written skills and ability to learn fast. 
  • Ability to work in a demanding and fast paced environment. Hard-working and highly motivated individual. 
  • Self-starter who is passionate for learning about new tools and technologies; Ability to work both independently, with other team members, and across teams. 
  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience, preferably in a Computer Science or related field. 
  • Appian certifications highly valued.
