Job Overview
The IT Sr Function Group Manager manages multiple teams of senior professionals through other senior managers. The job requires a broad and comprehensive understanding of the different systems, theories and practices relevant to a function as well as practical experience of multiple business cycles. In-depth knowledge of the industry and direct competitors' products/services is also necessary in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/ or area of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to influence a wide range of audiences. The job is likely to be involved in both internal and external negotiations which will have a major impact on the area managed, and possibly on other related areas and organization as a whole. Develops medium- to long-term plans and executes functional strategies for a large/complex country, cluster of countries, or business requiring coordination and integration across units. Provides input into strategic decisions affecting job family or function within a region or business.Full management responsibility of multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning. Has authority to negotiate and make independent decisions on issues/activities that have critical impact or influence on company revenues, capital or business operations. Typically, a direct report to an EB role and sits on the highest functional leadership team within a region,, or global business.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures managed areas are defining and implementing systems that are aligned with business strategy and goals. Involved in a wide range of diverse activities that require strategic vision and analysis.
- Applies a broad and comprehensive understanding in multiple functional areas and their underlying business principles.
- Understands how own function integrates within the overall organization to contribute to achieving business objectives; requires a good working knowledge of the industry.
- Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated, unique and dynamic situations; draws on diverse range of internal and external sources.
- Impacts the function by exercising control over sizable resources / budget, policy formulation and planning; has significant influence over future strategy.
- Influences and negotiates with senior leaders (across functions); communicates with external parties.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in multiple technology disciplines with extensive experience in business, functional and people management.
- Budget management, Risk & Control management, influencing skills
- Managerial Experience
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
The IT Sr Function Group Manager manages multiple teams of senior professionals. His/her direct reports are also senior managers engaged with business needs and/or with technical cross responsibilities.
This role will lead the strategic design, development, integration and delivery of innovative technology solutions to support Banamex digital transformation, core banking operations and TSA exits. He/she is responsible for overseeing and transforming software development teams, ensuring alignment with business areas priorities and goals, and driving the adoption of next generation technologies across the entire bank.
The candidate must be a strategic thinker, a strong leader, since he will be leading more than 6,000 people, and a hands-on technologist with proven experience in technology and process transformation processes within the financial services industry.
The job requires a broad and comprehensive understanding of Banamex technological ecosystem, development methodologies as well as practical experience of universal banking business cycles.
In-depth knowledge of the industry and global competitors' products and services are also necessary in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business.

Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the bank’s software and technology development functions, including, design, coding, testing, deployment and applications maintenance.
- Define and execute the technology roadmap to support the digital transformation, aligned with the IT Plan and with business priorities, collaborating with senior management teams to translate business needs into reliable technology solutions.
- Ensure reliability of the Bank’s technology through high availability, scalability and security of developed or integrated solutions.
- Foster a culture of innovation an agility, that help the business growth, and will be responsible for most of the Agile transformation within the Technology areas.
- Drive cost efficiencies through process automation and vendor management strategies
- Lead change management initiatives to ensure seamless adoption of new technologies
- Manage a yearly development budget of 800 MM-1 Bn USD in projects from Agenda Unica & TSAs
- Build, transform and mentor high-performing Legacy and Next Gen development teams

Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in multiple technology disciplines, including software development with extensive experience in business, functional and people management.
- Strong knowledge and experience with in Financial Services Industry
- Deep understanding of banking technologies (core systems, digital channels, risk and compliance technologies), and financial services and enterprise platforms.
