Job Overview
The Investor Relations Group Mgr is accountable for management of complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas. Leads and directs a team of professionals. Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function. Applies in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions. Strong commercial awareness is a necessity. Generally accountable for delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses/ geographic regions. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication may be necessary. Accountable for the end results of an area. Exercises control over resources, policy formulation and planning. Primarily affects a sub-function. Involved in short- to medium-term planning of actions and resources for own area. Full management responsibility of a team or multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval.Responsibilities:
- Assume key role for some of the largest & most significant relationships
- Provide direction and focus on large clients with a custody, cash and funds wallet.
- Assume primary responsibility for retention of name with support as appropriate.
- Proactively manage and negotiate the Service Level Agreement and alert Operations, Product and Senior management on trends/issues
- Manage the service review process and ensure service improvement plans are in place to address any shortfalls in service.
- Protect revenue by ensuring we meet clients' service requirements and communicate as the voice of the client internally to Operations, Technology, Product Management and Client Delivery.
- Deliver a high-quality, tailored, service experience across the client org to enhance satisfaction
- Be consistent, cohesive, and seamless across multiple Citi products/regions
- Be a central point of contact - track, manage, and coordinate all key issues for the client and Citi seniors
- Conduct regular service reviews and proactively utilize client management tools to resolve client issues, identify trends and develop action plans that confirm commitment and optimize service levels.
- Contribute information to monthly financial reviews and other such management processes
- Understand product functionality, and acquire expertise on the delivery platform
- Proactively recommend process enhancements, and follow through on product, technological and operational improvement opportunities. Drive innovation to build environment of continuous improvement that benefits long-term business direction.
- Drive client events, roundtables and other client-visible communication initiatives
- Build a network of Citi contacts in the local markets and regional service centres and understand product functionality so to provide expertise on the delivery platform.
- Integrate with the other functional partners to deliver the product to clients within standards
- Advise/lead/assist on various projects & initiatives within the Client Executive team
- Provide input into target market account plans and drive financial results accordingly
- Manage client relationships on a day-to-day basis against defined performance standards internally and against clients where appropriate
- Act as escalation point for operational or service issues and track, manage, and coordinate all key issues for the client and Citi seniors
- Provide input as required into all internal communication vehicles.
- Maintain industry knowledge, and inform clients of ongoing market initiatives
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of product range.
- Knowledge of internal Citi systems
- Knowledge of Securities and cash operations, product and Risk Management as required.
- Mastery of Securities product knowledge - will vary from product to product
Education:
- Bachelors degree, potentially Masters degree

Mandatory Requirements:
- Experience + 10 years for sr. management analyst roles; Investment banking, Corporate finance, Private equity/venture capital, FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis), Strategy consulting.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Engineering. MBA or CFA certification is a plus
- Languagues: Advanced English
- Financial and Accounting Knowledge: Strong grasp of financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow) for banks and financial institutions., Understanding of accounting principles (IFRS & MxGaap for banks). Ability to analyze financial ratios, trends, and performance indicators, for banks and financial institutions
- Financial Modeling Expertise: Ability to build dynamic, error-free models in Excel (DCFs, EV, M&A models). Comfort with scenario and sensitivity analysis. Use of advanced Excel functions (INDEX/MATCH, VBA, pivot tables, data tables, macros).
- Valuation Techniques Mastery of valuation methods: Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), Comparable Company Analysis (Comps) Net Asset Value (NAV)
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to interpret large data sets and derive insights. Strong quantitative skills and critical thinking. Business acumen to assess the impact of financial and operational drivers.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel proficiency. Familiarity with PowerPoint for presenting findings. Knowledge of SQL, or Python is a strong plus. Overall, IT friendly/knowledgeable
- Soft Skills:
Attention to detail – small errors can lead to major valuation mistakes.
Communication skills – to explain financial concepts clearly to stakeholders.
Time management – ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Collaboration – work across teams (accounting, strategy, business units).
