The Investor Relations Ld Analyst is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. Requires basic commercial awareness. There are typically multiple people within the business that provide the same level of subject matter expertise. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with relevant partners and stakeholders.
  • Establish, develop, sustain and manage investor communication such as strategy, scope, resources, responsibilities, etc.
  • Develop, produce and implement investor communication with creative assets and frame work.
  • Map and maintain understanding of investor relations plays in business and external activities.
  • Partnership with research and insight colleagues to develop and manage frameworks for communication.
  • Partner with Citi colleagues and others to provide investor communication with innovation initiatives.
  • Make decisions on the best form of increasing the usage and campaigns together with the shared best practice.
  • Develops and maintain positive and effective relationship with investors, internal and external partners and stakeholders.
  • Manage creative development process and agency partners.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:
  • 6 – 10 years of experience from finance, economics, legal, etc.
  • Knowledge of the banking industry and financial service
  • Knowledge of Citi’s products, service, process, etc.

Education:
  • Bachelors degree, potentially Masters degree

Skills & Competencies

1. Financial and Accounting Knowledge

  • Strong grasp of financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow) for banks and financial institutions.
  • Understanding of accounting principles (IFRS  & MxGaap for banks).
  • Ability to analyze financial ratios, trends, and performance indicators, for banks and financial institutions

2. Financial Modeling Expertise

  • Ability to build dynamic, error-free models in Excel (DCFs, EV, M&A models).
  • Comfort with scenario and sensitivity analysis.
  • Use of advanced Excel functions (INDEX/MATCH, VBA, pivot tables, data tables, macros).

3. Valuation Techniques

  • Mastery of valuation methods:
    • Discounted Cash Flow (DCF)
    • Comparable Company Analysis (Comps)
    • Net Asset Value (NAV)

4. Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills

  • Ability to interpret large data sets and derive insights.
  • Strong quantitative skills and critical thinking.
  • Business acumen to assess the impact of financial and operational drivers.

5. Technical Skills

  • Advanced Excel proficiency.
  • Familiarity with PowerPoint for presenting findings.
  • Knowledge of  SQL, or Python is a strong plus.
  • Overall, IT friendly/knowledgeable

Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in FinanceAccountingEconomics, or Engineering.
  • MBA or CFA certification is a plus

 Experience

  • 5–7 years for analyst roles;
  • Prior experience in:
    • Investment banking
    • Corporate finance
    • Private equity/venture capital
    • FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis)
    • Strategy consulting

Soft Skills

  • Attention to detail – small errors can lead to major valuation mistakes.
  • Communication skills – to explain financial concepts clearly to stakeholders.
  • Time management – ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Collaboration – work across teams (accounting, strategy, business units).
