Job Overview

The Counsel is an intermediate position responsible for managing a variety of day-to-day legal activities in coordination with the Legal team. The overall objective of this role is to provide legal support, advice and guidance across a broad range of practice areas.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate employee performance and provide recommendations for pay increases, promotions, terminations, etc.
• Work independently to provide legal advice in one area within a product or country or for an area of legal expertise (Litigation, Regulatory, HR, IP, Employment, etc.)
• Analyze documentation against regulatory requirements and internal policies to advise business accordingly
• Resolve problems, escalating to senior staff as needed
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

• 5-8 years of experience
• Valid Bar license to practice law
• Banking/financial industry experience or experience working at a large law firm
• Comprehensive knowledge of local, state and federal laws and practices
• Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
• Proven analytical and organizational skills

Education:

• Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Descripción del puesto

Buscamos un(a) Abogado(a) con sólida formación en Derecho y experiencia comprobada en contratos de tecnología y procesos regulatorios ante la CNBV; para fortalecer nuestro equipo legal. Este puesto es fundamental para brindar soporte jurídico a las áreas de Tecnología del banco, garantizando el cumplimiento normativo, la gestión eficiente de riesgos legales y negociación de contratos. El candidato ideal deberá destacará por su profundo conocimiento técnico, habilidades analíticas y de comunicación, asegurando procesos contractuales sólidos y alineados con la regulación vigente.

Responsabilidades principales

• Revisar, redactar y negociar contratos tecnológicos con terceros, asegurando condiciones claras y favorables para la institución.
• Velar por el cumplimiento de obligaciones contractuales y normativas, incluyendo disposiciones financieras y políticas internas.
• Asesorar a equipos internos del banco en la adquisición y contratación de soluciones tecnológicas.
• Colaborar con áreas otras áreas legales especializadas del banco (regulatorio, inmobiliario, administrativo) para definir y alinear estrategias jurídicas.
• Proporcionar soporte legal preventivo y correctivo en operaciones y proyectos tecnológicos, identificando y mitigando riesgos.

Requisitos

• Licenciatura en Derecho con título y cédula profesional (indispensable).
• 5 a 8 años de experiencia profesional en firmas legales, instituciones financieras o áreas de tecnología (requisito no negociable por auditoría).
• Sólido conocimiento en contratos de tecnología, derecho corporativo, administrativo y regulaciones aplicables al sector financiero.
• Inglés intermedio-avanzado (capacidad para leer, redactar y negociar documentos legales en inglés).
• Habilidades sobresalientes de comunicación, análisis jurídico, organización y gestión de prioridades.
• Deseable experiencia en interacción con autoridades regulatorias, como la CNBV, CONDUSEF y Banco de México.
