We’re currently looking for a high caliber professional to join our team as APAC Immigration Lead, Vice President - Hybrid.
The APAC Immigration Lead is a seasoned professional who plays a critical role in the operational delivery and management of Citi's global immigration programs within a designated area or cluster. Reporting directly to the Immigration Group Manager, this individual will be responsible for executing strategies, implementing standardized policies and processes, and providing expert advisory services to business and HR colleagues. The role requires strong leadership to guide and support a team, ensuring a seamless and compliant immigration experience for employees.
In this role, your responsibilities include:
Lead the day-to-day execution and management of global immigration programs within a specific cluster (e.g., regional or functional focus), ensuring alignment with Citi's overall global immigration strategy.
Implement and ensure adherence to Citi's Global Immigration Policy and governance framework within the assigned cluster, facilitating effective communication with key stakeholders and immigration vendors.
Drive operational excellence by ensuring the regional immigration team and supporting vendors provide a consistent, high-quality experience to employees, managers, and HR business partners within their cluster.
Leverage reporting and analytics to monitor program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement within the cluster.
Develop and maintain Citi-specific intranet immigration pages, operating manuals, knowledge articles and FAQs.
Provide expert immigration advisory support to internal business managers and HR community, addressing complex immigration scenarios and contributing to Citi's Talent Agenda.
Manage internal reviews or audits of immigration data, processes, and policies within the assigned cluster to ensure compliance and data integrity.
Utilize Workday for immigration recordkeeping, monitoring, and ensuring data accuracy and completeness for their cluster.
Identify, assess, and escalate potential global/regional immigration risks in operating models and/or processes within the cluster to the Global Immigration Senior Vice President.
Implement and contribute to the cluster's immigration processes, controls, third party risk management and monitoring mechanisms to enhance efficiency and compliance.
Monitor vendor performance within the cluster against service level agreements, provide feedback, and collaborate on service enhancements.
Utilize data and insights for compliance and risk strategies.
Design escalation frameworks for resolving concerns, case issues, service issues, or negative adjudications that terminate work authorization.
Oversee the deployment of dashboards, real-time employee case updates, and risk analytics.
Manage vendor relationships and associated costs.
Conduct periodic reviews to assess immigration vendor support.
Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of immigration specialists or analysts within the cluster, fostering professional development and ensuring achievement of team goals.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Regional and Country Legal, HR Advisory teams, HR Shared Services, Total Rewards, and Talent Acquisition to ensure integrated and effective immigration solutions.
Ensure timely and effective communication of immigration policy updates and process changes to relevant stakeholders within the cluster.
Serves as liaison to and also manages vendors (visa/immigration), the COE (Center of Excellence) country, and invoice payments and account related matters
Liaisons with Finance, Reconcilement Team, and Accounts Payables on accounting/payment/account proofing matters.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:
Qualifications:
6-10 years of relevant experience
Strong foundational knowledge of immigration laws and regulations, particularly within their designated cluster or functional area.
Excellent communication skills
Attention to details.
Global mind-set and experience in working in multi-national companies
Ready for changes and challenges.
Proven ability to operate and influence effectively within a matrixed and flexible organizational structure.
Excellent relationship management skills, a commitment to customer service, and experience with supplier management.
Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
Education:
Bachelors/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
