Job Overview
Citi is the Market Maker and a global leader in all major Fixed Income markets in across the globe. Unified Fix Income Trade Processing (FITP) is Citi’s primary Fixed Income trading platform processing Derivatives, Cash, Exotics and SFT products with 3800+ Trading, Sales, Middle Office users globally. Unified FITP, built on state of the art technology stack processes around 200,000 transactions daily and provides real time position, risk management capabilities. It has connectivity to 100+ electronic trading venues and 20+ regulatory bodies globally.
We are looking for a talented and passionate full stack engineer to join our trade processing application development team and continue to evolve our next-generation trading application. They would lead the efforts to transition our application to smaller services, full automated CI/CD pipelines enabling faster time to market. The successful candidate will gain valuable exposure to the Fixed Income Trading business and an opportunity to work on a large scale, modern technology platform with a global presence
In this role, you’re expected to:
- Collaborate with the team to understand functional and operational requirements
- Lead designs and implementation of robust and testable code in support of the requirements
- Develop certain non-functional features in the system to improve reliability, scalability and performance
- Contribute to the design and implementation of automated test suites
- Participate in code reviews helping other team members improve their code
- Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements
- Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards
- Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint
- Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals
- Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions
- Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary
Key Relationships:
- Derivative Pricing & eTrading team in New York, Poland, Canada
- Other development teams also same regions
- Credit Trading Desk
- Application support organization
As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:
- 8+ years of relevant experience in Application Development
- Experience with system analysis and in programming of software applications, especially as it pertains to performance and testability of components
- Familiarity with Credit Derivative products and associated pricing and risk calculations
- Ability to be proactive, adjust priorities quickly
- Experience working on a mature development in a large collaborative environment as well as coming up with ideas that challenge current practices
- Demonstrated leadership skills
Technology Skills:
- Experience with Java ecosystem
- Expert in Java development
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and best DevOps practices
- Exposure to profiling, debugging and monitoring tools
- Ambition to learn aspects of systems supporting real time interest rate risk calculations
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree preferred
