The Global Solution Sales (SVP) role in Japan provides a unique opportunity to manage a portfolio of Japanese key corporate clients. A good understanding of Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS), its strategic direction, the industry, direct competitors' solutions and products and services will be required.

The Role:

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team in Tokyo, Japan as a Global Solution Sales. The Global Solution Sales role sits within TTS team in Japan and provides a unique opportunity to manage a portfolio of essentially Japan-based Global corporate clients. The role holder will have a demonstrated excellence in the origination of complex corporate digital solutions across payments, liquidity management, cards, eCommerce and working capital solutions, requiring solid understanding of corporate business and organizational models. With the technological agenda of the payment industry and the gradual adoption of direct-to-consumer strategies, a good understanding of the benefits of emerging digital solutions is becoming essential.

In this role, you’re expected to:

  • Manage a portfolio of Top Tier Local Corporates and Global Subsidiaries
  • Lead TTS sales origination, pipeline development, customer revenue growth of a portfolio of assigned Corporate clients in Japan
  • Increase customer penetration and cross-sell of TTS products and solutions across a 95+ country network with existing and new clients, leveraging relevant data driven sales tools and insights to drive origination
  • Deepen wallet penetration, revenue realization and expansion, and driving customer satisfaction through quality service delivery and reduce attrition
  • Primary global or regional point of contact and accountability for TTS sales origination and related activities to clients
  • Become a ‘Trusted Advisor’ to our corporate clients for complex cash and working capital solutions, developing differentiated client dialogue across relevant client buying centers, in partnership with product, industry and specialist sales partners
  • Support relevant client experience initiatives, working in close partnership with relevant banking, servicing and client success teams, inclusive of Relationship Managers, TTS Products, Ops, and Technology
  • Develop strong partnerships with key stakeholders, including banking teams to define client priorities, develop robust client account plans and ensure coordinated and sustained client calling routines
  • Drive sustained client engagement and support a range of TTS and franchise marketing initiatives in driving thought leadership
  • Keep track of portfolio revenues, drivers and monitor against planned targets
  • Work with control functions as and when required, such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure
  • Be part of a culture where we demonstrate responsible finance, have good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethics
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity

As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:

  • 10+ years of experience
  • Possesses in-depth knowledge of Cash Management and Working Capital Solutions along with other banking products as well as regulations
  • Proven track record in originating and selling cash management, trade, and/or technology-based consulting solutions with large, complex client buying organizations
  • Experienced working with large client relationships from a banking or product perspective
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication, demonstrating fluency in English and Japanese
  • Tenacious, persuasive, and articulate personality
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to deal internally and externally with clients
  • Innate leadership ability to galvanize resources across units
  • Ability to work with broad group of stakeholders


Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
