Job Overview
Intermediate level position in OTC Derivatives Operations/Japan Markets Operations responsible for processingtransactionsand settlements originating from OTC Derivatives products.
Markets Operations in Japan supports various products such as Fixed Income, Equity, FX, SBL, andFuturesfor mostly Japanese investors. OTC Derivatives Operations isone of thedynamicorganizationswhich facesthelatest derivatives products acrossallassetclassesfrom Tokyo and Okinawa.
We partner extensively with a range of internal stakeholders including FrontOfficeSales and Trading Desks, Compliance, Legal,andFinance, alongside havingsignificantinteraction with our external client base, playing a key role in the overall client experience.
Derivatives Operations requires expert knowledgeofcomplex products and experiences whichhas beenestablished by past cases for pre- and post- settlements.
Also, the team needs to complywiththe change of business requirements andregulations, then establish the process with partners, especiallyintechnology.
The team is expected to supporta first-classexperience for our clients, as Citi Japan is recognized as one of the top brokerdealersin the market of Japan.
Responsibilities:
- Process settlements from derivative products.Interact andliaison with cash operation and overseas operation to provide smooth and superior service.
- Product class variesacrossRates & Currency, Credit, Equity, and Commodity Derivatives.
- Resolve settlement-related issues and escalate as needed; recommend solutions to resolve complex issues.
- Monitor and maintain static data to keep accurate and compliant information in the firm. Engage in documentation and reporting required by regulators and clients on OTC derivatives products (blotter, monthly statements, etc.).
- Collaborate with the derivative confirmation team who process ISDA derivative documentation for non-centrally cleared derivativestransactions.
- Collaborate with the derivative CCP & margining team, whoprocessCCP activities (JSCC) and margining.
- Leada small-sizedunit (2-3 staff) in OTC Derivatives Operations and coach junior staff. Provide formal and informal guidance and/or on-the-job training to team members.
- Achieve team performance excellence to ensure high-quality and high-volume productivity.
- Supporttheteam leader (AVP level) asaunit leader on various activities.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in a related role. Equivalent work experience preferred.
- Demonstrated comprehension of derivatives products, settlements, accounting, contract documentation, and regulatory policies.
- Strong awareness of both external and internal best practice perspectives, maintaining a balanced and fresh viewpoint.
- Experience in teamwork and developing people preferred. Aim to be a leader positively and productively.
- Participation in the implementation of projects, including new products, services, and upgrades to platforms.
- Efficient oral and written communication skills in English and Japanese.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience in Business, Accounting, or Finance
