Job Overview

The Testing Intermediate Analyst is a developing professional role. Deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems. Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices. Good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the subfunction/ job family. Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information. Typically deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact. Applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information. Moderate but direct impact through close contact with the businesses' core activities. Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts initiatives related to User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process and product rollout into production. Testing specialists who work with technology project managers, UAT professionals and users to design and implement appropriate scripts/plans for an application testing strategy/approach. Responsibilities may also include software quality assurance testing.
  • Conducts a variety of tests and analyses to ensure that systems and or applications meet or exceed specified standards and end-user requirements.
  • Works closely with key stakeholders to understand business and functional requirements to develop test plans, test cases and scripts.
  • Works complex testing assignments.
  • Executes test scripts according to application requirements documentation.
  • Identifies defects and recommends appropriate course of action; performs root cause analyses.
  • Coordinates multiple testers and testing activities within a project.
  • Retests after corrections are made to ensure problems are resolved.
  • Documents, evaluates and researches test results for future replication.
  • Identifies, recommends and implements process improvements to enhance testing strategies.
  • Interfaces with development teams if clarification is needed on requirements or to convey test results.
  • Exhibits good understanding of concepts and principles in own technical area and a basic knowledge of these elements in other areas.
  • Requires basic understanding of how own area integrates within IT testing to achieve objectives.
  • Makes evaluative judgments based on analysis of factual information.
  • Participate in test strategy meetings,
  • Has direct impact on the team and closely related teams by ensuring the quality of the tasks services information provided by self and others.
  • Resolves problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and guided by precedents
  • Requires sound and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills to exchange complex information.
  • Provides informal guidance to new team members.
  • Performs other duties and functions as assigned
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years experience of Testing within Financial Service industry
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies Knowledge of Quality Process Knowledge of relevant operating systems, languages and database tools Knowledge of defect tracking systems and processes; including change management Knowledge of automated regression testing tools.
  • Requires methodical approach to testing and problem solving.
  • Specific software languages will be dependent of area of business

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Automation UAT Tester to join our Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Transaction Monitoring team. As a UAT Tester, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our financial institution's transaction monitoring systems. Your role will involve develop,  maintain and validate requirements using Automation solutions according to the standards of user acceptance testing environment. You will work closely with business users, analysts, and developers within an Agile Scrum framework to deliver high-quality software that helps protect our institution from financial crime.
Responsibilities:
•    Design , develop and maintain automation solution developed for UAT environment to validate key business requirements AML transaction monitoring systems.
•    Develop and execute UAT test plans and test cases based on business requirements and functional specifications for AML transaction monitoring systems.
•    Perform hands-on testing of backend systems, including Oracle and Big Data databases, to validate data accuracy, integrity, and system performance.
•    Identify, document, and track software defects using testing tools such as QC/ALM and Jira, ensuring timely resolution and retesting.
•    Collaborate with business stakeholders, business analysts, and developers to understand system requirements and provide feedback on design and usability.
•    Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, to ensure effective communication and collaboration within the team.
•    Leverage Generative AI tools to enhance test automation and documentation.
Qualifications:
•    Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
•    02-04 years of experience in software testing, with a focus on user acceptance testing (UAT) within the financial industry.
•    Strong understanding of testing principles, methodologies, and the software Test life cycle (STLC).
•    Proven experience in testing backend systems, including Oracle and Big Data databases, using SQL and other data query languages.
•    Proven experience in developing & maintaining automation solutions using Python , Selenium or equivalent languages. (Minimum of 1 year, mandatory)
•    Experience with testing tools such as QC/ALM, Jira, or similar test management and defect tracking systems.
Key Competencies:
•    AML Knowledge: Familiarity with Anti-Money Laundering regulations, transaction monitoring processes, and AML systems like Mantas, Actimize, or similar detection tools (preferred).
•    Agile Proficiency: Hands-on experience working in an Agile Scrum framework, with a strong understanding of Agile principles and practices.
•    Technical Skills: Solid technical skills, including experience with SQL, data analysis, and a strong understanding of automation frameworks like Python and Selenium. (must)
•    Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex system requirements and design effective test cases.
•    Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate testing results, issues, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
