Job Overview

Role Summary

The Assistant Vice President – Trainer will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering comprehensive training programs to support the operational excellence of the Collections Operations function within Investment Banking Operations. The role will ensure that employees are equipped with the necessary product, process, and compliance knowledge to perform effectively in a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver structured training programs covering onboarding, process knowledge, regulatory compliance, and systems training for Collections Operations.
  • Design and maintain training curricula, materials, and documentation in alignment with business and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with business leaders, subject matter experts, and HR to identify training needs and implement effective learning solutions.
  • Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics; recommend enhancements as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, risk management frameworks, and external regulatory requirements in all training content.
  • Provide continuous learning opportunities, refresher sessions, and targeted coaching to support employee development.
  • Contribute to building a sustainable training framework and knowledge repository for ongoing capability enhancement across the function.
  • Mentor and guide junior training professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
  • Lead the Operations Support department through delegation of tasks and responsibilities for multiple teams
  • Conduct performance evaluations, compensations, hiring, disciplinary actions, and terminations of team members as well as determining staffing needs
  • Monitor team’s end results, ensuring quality and efficiency and contributes to resource planning, budget management and formulation of procedures

Qualifications

  • Graduate/Post-Graduate degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 10–12 years of professional experience in Investment Banking Operations, with at least 4–5 years in training, learning, or development roles.
  • Strong domain knowledge of Collections Operations and related processes within Investment Banking Operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in training design, content development, and delivery for large and diverse teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management abilities with experience engaging senior business leaders.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess training impact and effectiveness through measurable outcomes.
