Job Overview

The Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements
  • Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards
  • Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals
  • Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions
  • Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.


Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of relevant experience in Apps Development or systems analysis role
  • Extensive experience system analysis and in programming of software applications
  • Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications Development
  • Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management skills
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master’s degree preferred

Within Treasury and Trade Solutions group, Data, architecture and innovation practice offers various Statements, Advice, and Reports to large corporations and governments for their various needs such as salary payments, supplier payments, mutual funds dividends, insurance premium payments etc. This application team owns the Data platform where payments/trade information is consolidated and processed further to generate Swift Statements, advice, reports, alerts, etc.

Role Description:

We are seeking a Software/Application Development Team Lead for APAC Data Platform team. The successful candidate will interact with development, testing, and production support teams, as well as other departments within Citigroup (such as the System Administrators, Database Administrators, Data Centre Operations, and Change Control groups) for TTS platforms.

The ideal candidate will be dependable and resourceful, with the ability to work in high-pressured environment is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to formulation of strategies for applications development and other functional areas. Manage and evolve the technical payments solution and bring Citibank above the competition. Work closely with the different payment facets such as shared networks, financial institutions, digital channels, clearing houses, regulatory and compliance
  • Manage one or more Applications Development teams in an effort to accomplish established goals as well as conduct personnel duties for team (e.g. performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions)
  • Impact the Applications Development area through monitoring delivery of end results, participate in budget management, and handling day-to-day staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge and skills across multiple Applications Development areas to provide technical oversight across systems and applications
  • Provide evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual data in complicated and unique situations
  • Ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards negotiating with external parties when necessary
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards

Technical / Functional Proficiency:

Must-Have: Demonstrated people and technical management skills, managing a team of 10-15 high caliber developers & software designers

Must-Have: Experience and proven track record in end-to-end implementation of Data applications with Oracle, J2EE, MQ, Python, Connect direct in Linux environment

Must-Have: Strong understanding, hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of Linux and Oracle database migrations, with proven track record of successful implementation

Must-Have: Experience in building enterprise-grade transaction management system with focus on recovery, stability, reliability, scalability and performance Must-Have: Work with onsite development partners to ensure design and coding best practices

Must-Have: In-depth knowledge in SDLC and Agile processes

Must-Have: Strong and hands-on experience of Linux and Oracle database migrations, with proven track record of successful implementation.

Must-Have: Attitude of "Gets Things Done", ‘Breaking silos" and doesn’t take “no” for an answer

Must-Have:  Productively removes obstacles, navigates the internal/external stakeholder ‘matrix’ to move quickl

Must-Have: Strong understanding, experience and in-depth knowledge of Linux and Oracle database architecture, with proven track record of successful implementation.

Good-To-Have: Experience in Database technologies (Oracle/SQL or Mongo) and development skills (Sql/Stored Proc development including performance tuning)

Good-To-Have: Experience in working with various Payments schemes, preferably Faster Payments scheme of any country, and Payments messaging formats such as ISO 8583, ISO 20022, and SWIFT etc.

Leadership Skills:

Must-Have: Responsible for providing technical leadership, Stakeholder Management experience of multiple large scale/complex software solutions

Must-Have: Positive Attitude of "Gets Things Done" and “Breaking silos" to align with Strategic direction

Must-Have:  Productively removes obstacles, navigates the internal/external stakeholder ‘matrix’ to move quickly

Must-Have:  Work closely with Program Management and Quality Control teams to deliver quality software to agreed project schedules
