Job Overview

The Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.

We are seeking a talented and data-savvy Front-End Application Developer to help build modern, scalable web applications. You will work across the stack to deliver intuitive, responsive UIs powered by data from MongoDB and backend APIs built in Java and Python. The ideal candidate will also have experience deploying applications on OpenShift or Kubernetes-based environments to ensure resilience and scalability in production.


Responsibilities:

  • Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancements, including using script tools and analyzing/interpreting code
  • Develop responsive, data-driven web interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular ,React)
  • Build seamless integrations with RESTful APIs developed in Java and Python
  • Strong Programming skills in Java, developing and integrating REST APIs and Python, automation and AI-driven analytics.
  • Use MongoDB to structure and query application data, ensuring optimal performance and scalability
  • Apply data modeling best practices and handle complex datasets in the UI
  • Collaborate with backend and DevOps teams to containerize and deploy front-end apps to OpenShift
  • Troubleshoot issues across environments including frontend, APIs, data layers, and deployments
  • Build reusable components and frameworks that enable rapid development and high-quality user experiences
  • Optimize application performance and ensure accessibility and cross-browser compatibility
  • Leverage Generative AI for predictive analytics, automation, and business intelligence.
  • Participate in Agile development cycles, code reviews, and CI/CD processes
  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
  • Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industry
  • Intermediate level experience in Applications Development role
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
  • 4+ years of professional experience in front-end development using JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3
  • Expertise in a modern front-end framework (React, Angular, or Vue)
  • Proficient in integrating and working with RESTful APIs built in Java (Spring Boot) and Python (Flask/Django)
  • Strong working knowledge of MongoDB, including schema design, aggregation, and indexing
  • Hands-on experience deploying applications on OpenShift, Kubernetes, or other container platforms
  • Proficient in Git and familiar with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI)
  • Experience building UI applications that handle large, structured datasets with dynamic filtering or visualization
  • Design and implement benchmarks to measure the performance of software systems within AI capabilities and make recommendations on technology selection.


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
