Job Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Asst. Vice President to lead critical Third-Party Management (TPM) and Application Onboarding initiatives within Global SMBF Technology Production Support. This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring the compliant, efficient, and risk-mitigated management of all outsourced technology services, driving operational excellence, and fostering robust vendor relationships. The successful candidate will navigate complex regulatory landscapes, provide essential strategic oversight, and safeguard Citi's interests in its third-party engagements.
Key Responsibilities:
Third-Party Management (TPM) Leadership:
- Provide comprehensive support to the SMBF Production Management business across all Third-Party Management (TPM) processes.
- Accountable for end-to-end management of all TPM activities across the entire supplier lifecycle: Planning, Due Diligence, Contracting, Ongoing Monitoring, and Termination.
- Act as a central coordinator among diverse stakeholders including Procurement, Legal, Compliance, Audit, Vendors, and Citi Business Units.
- Deliver periodic, insightful risk reports to the SMBF PS leadership team, detailing key third-party risks and proposed mitigation strategies.
- Oversee vendor risk assessments, audits, onboarding, document refreshers/reviews, and termination procedures, ensuring full compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Monitor, mitigate, and report regularly on Citi’s TPM controls and assessments pertaining to third-party relationships and vendor compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations.
- Drive continuous process improvement initiatives to ensure accurate data collection, robust analysis, and effective planning for key TPM initiatives.
- Review and track vendor Continuity of Business (COB) plans and their annual test results.
II. Application Onboarding Management:
- Leverage strong understanding of application transition best practices to provide solutions and track the onboarding of applications into SMBF Production Management.
- Implement, monitor, track, status report, and enable operational readiness for delivery teams during transitions.
- Effectively manage transition project dynamics, especially across multiple service lines and complex interdependencies.
- Proactively identify, report, and track risks and issues that arise during the transition process.
- Monitor the effectiveness of knowledge transfer, making appropriate recommendations for changes and improvements.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, capable of conveying relevant information to executive-level audiences.
- Possess excellent analytical skills to thoroughly assess problem circumstances and develop credible, detailed transition plans.
- Ensure that transitions are achieved within budget constraints, actively identifying and implementing cost optimization measures.
- Operate as a self-starter and leader, capable of working independently within the organization.
III. Delivery Assurance:
- Ensure that the delivery of services by vendors consistently meets the expectations of technology and business teams.
- Proactively monitor the performance and staffing levels of supplier project teams.
- Collaborate with vendor leads and Citi Senior Management Team (SMT) to implement best practices across all vendors, continuously striving to improve delivery quality.
- Lead complex, cross-functional strategic Delivery Assurance initiatives throughout SMBF.
- Provide strategic support, identify optimization opportunities, and develop and execute robust resource and location strategies.
- Maximize the value derived from our financial expenditure on vendors.
- Identify early indicators of potential issues in staffing or the engagement governance model, taking swift action to address them before they impact project delivery.
- Ensure clear communication and alignment between supplier teams and global teams on project priorities, risks, and issues related to resourcing and attrition.
- Work with LOB leads, delivery managers, and project teams to mature the engagement model, implementing key metrics and performance indicators, and providing feedback to Citi and suppliers on resultant analysis.
- Understand baselines and set challenging yet achievable targets for vendor teams, tracking and driving performance throughout the term to realize tangible results.
- Review supplier performance and provide qualitative and quantitative Management Information Systems (MIS) on supplier performance.
- Provide regular status reports, engagement reports, and local intelligence to Citi senior management.
- Support global teams in transitioning work to India where required.
- Guide project SME teams co-located with suppliers proactively to optimize value from vendor project teams.
- Assess and act as a consultant, suggesting refined vendor engagement models to the Citi SMT based on varying business needs.
Contract & Resource Management:
- Accountable to ensure all Contracts with strategic vendors are active and renewed well within the time frame
- Ensure all Commercials, Legal Vehicle, Resourcing, Applications, TPM, COB, Support Locations, Scope & deliverables etc., are duly reviewed and documented in line with Contract terms
- Responsible to maintain all Contract related Financials accurately for BAU and for various management reporting purpose
- Responsible to track all Change Requests appropriately and Contracts are amended duly to cover these Change Requests
- Work with various internal stakeholders like Procurement, Staffing Office, Business Office, Finance teams, TPO etc., to ensure Contracts related actions are completed duly.
- Work with Vendors closely to track their deliverables from Contract and resourcing perspective
- Responsible to answer any Audit queries on Contracts related
- Accountable to maintain various MIS and reports to be submitted to management on periodic basis
Education:
- MBA, M.Sc. Information Technology, B.E, MCA in Information Technology.

Full TPM Lifecycle Compliance: Successful oversight and execution of all Third-Party Management activities across the entire supplier
lifecycle (Planning, Due Diligence, Contracting, Ongoing Monitoring, Termination). Harmonized Stakeholder Coordination: Achieved seamless
coordination and collaboration among all TPM stakeholders (Procurement, Legal, Compliance, Audit, Vendors, Citi Business Units, etc.).
Proactive TPM Risk Mitigation: Timely delivery of periodic TPM risk reports to SMBF PS leadership, clearly identifying key risks and
presenting effective mitigation strategies. Vendor Compliance Assurance: Ensured and verified 100% vendor compliance with all regulatory
and contractual requirements through diligent risk assessments, audits, and procedural adherence. Optimized TPM Controls: Continuous
monitoring, mitigation, and reporting on Citi’s TPM controls, leading to enhanced third-party relationship and vendor compliance. Improved
TPM Processes: Driven continuous process improvement initiatives resulting in more accurate data, robust analysis, and efficient planning for
TPM. Vendor COB Readiness: Confirmed review and tracking of vendor Continuity of Business (COB) plans and annual COB test results.
II. Application Onboarding Management Deliverables:
Efficient Application Onboarding: Successful implementation and tracking of application onboarding into SMBF Production Management,
leveraging best practices and providing effective solutions. Operational Readiness for Transitions: Ensured operational readiness of delivery
teams through effective implementation, monitoring, tracking, and status reporting of onboarding initiatives. Managed Complex
Transitions: Successful management of transition projects with multiple service lines, delivering within scope and budget. Proactive Transition
Risk/Issue Resolution: Identified, reported, and tracked all risks and issues during the transition process, ensuring timely resolution. Effective
Knowledge Transfer: Monitored knowledge transfer effectiveness, with appropriate recommendations implemented for changes and
improvements. Executive-Level Transition Communication: Maintained strong stakeholder relationships and conveyed clear, relevant
information, including management summaries, to executive audiences regarding transitions. Budget-Compliant & Cost-Optimized
Transitions: Ensured all transitions are completed within budget and demonstrate cost optimization.
