Job Overview

The Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis, Development Component Testing and automationactivities.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct tasks related to feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk technology, applications development, model development, and establish and implement new or revised applications systems and programs to meet specific business needs or user areas
  • Monitor and control all phases of development process and analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation as well as provide user and operational support on applications to business users
  • Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge of applications development to analyze complex problems/issues, provide evaluation of business process, system process, and industry standards, and make evaluative judgement
  • Recommend and develop security measures in post implementation analysis of business usage to ensure successful system design and functionality
  • Consult with users/clients and other technology groups on issues, recommend advanced programming solutions, and install and assist customer exposure systems
  • Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes
  • Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts
  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
  • Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
  • Deliver expertise and best practice regarding Development Component testing
  • Manage and Lead Component testing tasks – test initiation, scripts preparation, execution, and test closure.
  • Review and design test scripts, test conditions, input test data and expected results & end to end integrated component defect management.
  • Adhere Global Development Component QA procedure, use common tools (MF ALM, JIRA, Zephyr).
  • Bring new testing knowledge into the team – assist with test plan articulation, planning, and management of individual testing events. Create a transparent system wherein each member in the automation team is aware of goals and activities of entire automation team at any given time.
  • Accountable for all the automation deliveries assigned. Act as SPOC for defining Automation Test Strategy for all regional projects / non-projects, and decide on the need for automation development basis the ROI benefits realization
  • Excellent analytical skills to understand the Engineering Component requirements and design the scripts according to the needs
  • Candidate must have scripted/developed UFT Based Keyword/Data driven/Hybrid frameworks using Excel objects/Data base objects
  • Problem Solving & must have an analytical background.
  • Influences and negotiates with engineering team, Partner teams and various other stakeholders’ senior leaders across functions
  • Consult with business , Product teams to determine system functional specifications and partner with inter dependent Development units
  • Evaluate new IT developments and evolving business requirements and recommend appropriate systems alternatives and/or enhancements to current systems by analysing business processes, systems,
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.
  • Driving and coordinating technology delivery for Regulatory, Business Sustainability, Safety & Soundness and Consent Order initiatives
  • Drive and track delivery against priority items, as-well as measuring success against benefits and key metrics
  • Identifying risks and issues and driving to resolution or escalating as required
  • Provide input during development and implementation phases, including formulation and definition of systems scope, objectives and necessary system enhancements for complex, high-impact projects


Qualifications:

  • 7-11 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications
  • Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
  • Working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques/methods
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
  • Strong Business Analysis, Agile, Delivery focused & management skills
  • Proficient in Management Deck /Presentations, one Pagers would be an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) with extensive experience using Excel for data analysis
  • Comprehensive knowledge & Experience with all phases of Software Development & Business Analysis Life Cycle
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse project portfolio with stringent timelines
  • Consistently passionate for research, ideation, and exploration with understanding of business analysis procedures and concepts
  • Proven ability to work independently and in a team with understanding of how collaboration accomplishes franchise common objectives
  • Consistently detail-oriented and well organized with Strong analytical skills
  • Goal-oriented, and able to multi-task, having prioritization capabilities and manage to deadlines
  • Collaborating and influencing business stakeholders: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Adaptable: Strong work-ethic, innovative and adaptable with positive attitude and willingness / ability to pick up work quickly when and where needed


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
