Job Overview

Responsible for assisting with the liquidity management of the US Holding Company Treasury, including working with the Capital markets team to execute funding transactions to balance liquidity risk positions. The role will also play a key part in the development of balance sheet analysis tools and oversight of the Resolution and Recovery plan requirements of the covered entities.


This role will closely follow latest trends in Treasury, particularly Liquidity management & Resolution planning and adapt them for application within the US Holding Company Treasury Group.  Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other Treasury areas and other functional areas.


Key Group Responsibilities:
US Holding Company Legal Entity Treasury engages in a wide range of Treasury initiatives including:

  • Management of Parent Company Liquidity position and funding flows including closely coordinated positioning requirements of Bank and Broker Dealer businesses. Focus would be in fulfilling the Resolution and Recovery principles that apply to the Us Holding Company, Material Legal entities, and Non-Material entities with regard to Intercompany Funding, Liquidity, and Legal entity and Treasury Organization principles that support the Intermediate Holding and Group Holding company.
  • Global legal vehicle re-structuring initiatives related to changes in tax rules, emerging/ongoing resolution requirements, legal entity simplification, and acquisition/divestiture activity.
  • Global M&A support for all acquisition/divestiture/joint venture initiatives.
  • Contribution to the governance of funding, investing and analytics of the balance sheet, including:
    • Management of liquidity risk, oversight of Legal entity Capital and interest rate risk, Legal entity structure and capital forecasting.
    • Involvement in Intra Citi Legal entity lending.
    • Executing a suite of controls designed to demonstrate all processes meet Citi’s risk and controls Standards of execution

Position Characteristics:

  • The position will require both individual analytical work as well as partnership across teams to identify solutions in a timely manner and own the implementation / execution steps to autonomously drive open issues to completion.
  • Directs project prioritization, platform direction, and future state planning and strategic direction.
  • Exposure into various facets of Risk and Finance Processes within Citi; interacting with various levels within the organization.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
  • The job environment will be fast paced and fluid, with the successful candidate capable of effectively handling shifting / conflicting priorities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting or related field, MBA, CPA, or CFA a plus.
  • 10+ years of experience working for a financial services organization, including Treasury and Finance highly preferred
  • Core knowledge of balance sheet analysis and asset/liability management concepts should be supplemented with in-depth experience in at least 2 of the following subject matter areas:
    • Liquidity Risk management
    • Capital management
    • Legal Entity Funding /Treasury management
    • Balance Sheet management /Optimization, including familiarity with banking and/or broker dealer product sets
    • Multi-disciplinary Project Management including a strong Risk and Controls understanding for comparable US -GSIBs
    • Banking Regulation covering Treasury risk disciplines. Resolution planning a plus.
  • Thorough knowledge of key liquidity and Interest Rate Risk metrics, working knowledge of Citigroup Financial Systems (RUBY / PEARL / GLRS / GENESIS) a plus.
  • Proficiency with standard analysis tools (Excel / Access / SQL). Tableau a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication including ability to make presentations and lead large group meetings with ease in an audience appropriate context.

$145,840.00 - $218,760.00
