Job Overview

The Cluster Business Head is accountable for management of complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas. Leads and directs a team of professionals. Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function. Applies in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions. Generally accountable for delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses/ geographic regions. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication may be necessary. Accountable for the end results of an area. Exercises control over resources, policy formulation and planning. Primarily affects a sub-function. Involved in short- to medium-term planning of actions and resources for own area. Full management responsibility of a team or multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval.

Responsibilities:

  • The position is responsible for ensuring optimum efficiency and service levels for Global Cluster markets in accordance with the Bank’s policies and procedures and all applicable regulations, laws, and regulatory standards.
  • The position is responsible to ensure compliance to all applicable related policies, processes and procedures.
  • Reviewing and approving, as necessary, Profiles designated as Sensitive.
  • Ensuring that Profiles are in compliance with global policies and procedures.
  • Reviewing and managing rejection ratios of Profile Quality Metrics.
  • Reviewing and enforcing completion of required trainings for regional managers.
  • Ensuring that regional managers within their respective teams complete Periodic Reviews on time.
  • Reviewing and tracking all overdue cases and any backlogs, including errors/observations identified by Quality Assurance.
  • Monitoring both scheduled and unscheduled reviews to completion.
  • Monitoring the resolution of findings from the monthly Quality Assurance process.
  • The position is expected to identify and manage risks and opportunities associated with clients and prospects in Global Cluster markets, proposing actionable items to be implemented by the sales and client engagement managers and regional managers that leverage available resources and keep the client experience in sharp focus.
  • Define sales strategy, including target market, product and service offering, interaction models, training programs, and resources and infrastructure required.
  • Manage and drive acquisition channels, deepening of existing client relationships, and other strategic initiatives designed to improve sales revenue (where applicable and in strict compliance with all regulatory restrictions); build the necessary support for sales staff to efficiently manage, expand, maintain focus, and track business results.
  • Achieve and monitor all sales efforts in order to meet the projected production and goals of the business, while providing optimum service to our customers.
  • Proactively motivate and monitor performance of Market Heads, Client Engagement Center Heads, and reigonal managers to achieve individual and group sales goals.
  • Maintain frequent interaction with centers of influence, diverse industry segments, community leaders, regulators (as appropriate), senior business contacts, and top clients.
  • Execute assigned supervisory programs and manage the continued education of licensed personnel in accordance with regulations; oversee and coordinate sales efforts to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, laws, and standards; and proactively manage any verbal or written client complaints that may arise in the course of business.
  • Implement any appropriate programs to ensure that material risks are identified, understood, managed, and communicated; ensure outstanding issues and/or action plans are properly addressed and tracked; and coordinate with other areas and functions as appropriate.
  • Report to management and others as requested and participate in all appropriate leadership team discussion forums, committees, and initiatives.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years experience with Compensation and Sales Performance Management solutions.
  • Must have successful record in setting business strategies and implementation plans within global and local markets.
  • Must have experience in sales, distribution and/or relationship management in Consumer Financial Services.


Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
