As a recognizedBenchmark Administrator, CGML plays a critical role in the financial ecosystem, overseeing the entire lifecycle of benchmark administration – from development and determination to dissemination and governance.
Within CGML,Citi Benchmark Administration (BAT), an independent and global team within Citi Global Markets’ Markets Quantitative Analysis division, is key to this process. We transform innovative index ideas into investable indices, rigorously test methodologies, and manage the precise determination, calculation, publication, and maintenance of global benchmarks. Our diverse team operates across major financial hubs including London, Budapest, Hong Kong, Mumbai, New York, and Buffalo, working to shape the future of systematic investing.

What You'll Do
As a Junior Analyst in Citi Benchmark Administration, you will:
- Implement new index models in Python, collaborating closely with structuring and other quantitative analysts.
- Contribute to the improvement and management of Python-based analytics and index libraries.
- Develop and apply an expert understanding of index structures across one or multiple asset classes.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and technology partners to further develop and enhance a multi-asset calculation platform.
- Engage with and provide support to teammates and stakeholders in other regions.
- Actively participate in improving Benchmark Index and risk control processes.
- Develop and apply a strong understanding of risk control aspects related to data management, index calculation, and reconciliation processes.
- Support compliance with governance, audit, and regulatory requirements pertinent to the business.
- Contribute to fostering a culture of responsible finance, good governance, timely escalation and supervision, expense discipline, and ethical conduct.
- Demonstrate appropriate risk awareness in daily activities, safeguarding the firm's reputation and adhering to applicable laws, rules, regulations, and internal policies, applying sound ethical judgment, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.
What We'll Need From You
This role is ideal for a junior professional at an early stage of their career, possessing:
- A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering) or a related field.
- Essential programming experience in Python.
- Knowledge of financial markets is preferred.
- A thorough, organised, and detailed approach to work.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Self-driven, a quick learner, and a highly motivated individual.
- Proven ability to work effectively as a team player.
