Job Overview
Are you ready to take the next step in your career with a global financial institution?
Our Markets Funding and Liquidity desk is seeking a Data Scientist to join the first line of defense and contribute to a broad range of activities across the desk’s global remit.
Joining Citi means becoming part of a worldwide organization whose mission is to serve as a trusted partner to our clients—responsibly providing financial services that enable growth and economic progress.
Team / Role Overview
The Funding and Liquidity Desk is responsible for reviewing and strengthening funding and liquidity arrangements across all Markets product lines. Acting as a central hub for funding costs and liquidity strategy, the team collaborates with partners across Markets and Corporate Treasury to design transparent processes that allocate marginal costs and benefits effectively, and to help optimize business structures for stronger returns.
A key part of the role involves analyzing, presenting, and sharing liquidity‑related data using Tableau and other tools. The goal is to build transparency, make insights widely accessible, and empower users across the business to leverage data effectively.
This role reports to a London‑based manager and involves close collaboration with colleagues in London and New York.
What You Will Do
Implement new and enhanced business processes to support a standardized and transparent secured transfer pricing framework.
Identify and ensure resolution of system and control issues, contributing to a robust, efficient, and scalable business model across all traded asset classes.
Participate in business‑driven, cross‑functional projects, supporting implementation and working closely with key stakeholders.
Drive enhancements to technology, processes, and control frameworks.
Build and manage Tableau dashboards and visualizations focused on liquidity and related datasets, translating insights into actionable recommendations.
Provide analytical support to product desks and other business partners.
Improve data quality: partner with Markets Quantitative Analysis and IT to integrate Front Office liquidity and transfer pricing views into core datasets.
Enable users to perform their own analysis and gather feedback through ongoing collaboration with trading and structuring teams.
What We Need From You
Experience working with data analytics on large datasets, ideally within Financial Markets.
Proven ability to analyze business needs, build visualizations, and resolve complex data quality and integration challenges.
Strong SQL and Tableau skills; experience with Python or other programming languages is a plus.
Strong analytical and mathematical capabilities, with excellent attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within and across teams.
Ability to learn quickly, think creatively, and approach challenges with a problem‑solving mindset.
Comfort with derivatives modelling concepts is preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
