Job Overview

The Project Manager 2 accomplishes results through the management of professional team(s) and department(s). Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Contributes to standards around which others will operate. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the entire function. Requires basic commercial awareness. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Has responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness and delivery of end results of an area. May have responsibility for planning, budgeting and policy formulation within area of expertise. Involved in short-term planning resource planning. Full management responsibility of a team, which may include management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary and terminations and may include budget approval.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the day to day management of executing to milestones and budget on one or more projects.
  • Assess creation and ensure sign-off of project plan, charter, stakeholder management plan, acceptance plan, and central project issue log.
  • Work with Project Sponsor to ensure business case/cost benefit analysis is in line with business goals and confirm project plans meet business needs as described in the project initiation documents.
  • Ensure all stakeholders are identified and included in scope definition activities and understand project schedule and key milestones.
  • Ensure all areas of the project are appropriately staffed and monitor project commitment from those assigning resources.
  • Escalate project risks to the Project Director, or Project Sponsor, when appropriate.
  • Ensure vendor performance is monitored and actions taken if performance warrants.
  • Provides in-depth and sophisticated analysis with interpretive thinking to define problems and develop innovative solutions.
  • Directly affects the business by influencing strategic functional decisions through advice, counsel or provided services.
  • Persuades and influences others through developed communication and diplomacy skills with colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers.
  • Evaluates subordinates' performance and makes recommendations for pay increases, promotions, terminations, and other personnel actions.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:
  • 6-10 years relevant experience
  • Possesses a comprehensive understanding of how own area and others collectively integrate to contribute towards achieving business objectives.

Education:
  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred

The Global Platform and Service Readiness is responsible for delivering against goals and objectives defined for the team as  whole, as well as  the specific goals and objectives which may have also been defined.  Will perform against procedural objectives and performance efficiency toward accomplishment of the team's goals.  Will also be responsible for the delivery of personal and/or group Book of Work for all service readiness functions  within a given region and ensure that all audit and control requirements are met. Identify opportunities to improve overall service efficiency and overall client satisfaction through an improved client experience

Responsibilities:

  • Execute against regional and/or personal Book of Work                                                                                       
  • Set individual performance plans for members of the team and provides coaching and feedback through a formalized review process, create development and training as needed
  • Aid the annual compensation cycle for the team including making recommendations and communicating to employees appropriately                                                                                     
  • Deliver against appropriate metrics for the area as agreed by Regional Service Readiness Manager                                                                                            
  • Ensure overall operating efficiency objectives may include standards of conduct, quality of standards, performance objectives and any productivity guidelines                                                          
  • Manages own Service Readiness book of work for the region, including priorities & risks. 
  • Digital day ONE is a priority and must deliver against TTS overall goal to reduce manual processes and push back on products and processes that are not digitalized and/or  do not have a plan to be escalated                                                                    
  • Identify any opportunity for, and implement process improvements, service or technology enhancements                                                                                            
  • Identify control deficiencies and implement appropriate procedures to mitigate any risk or control losses                                                                                      
  • Identify opportunities to reduce expenses through improved technology builds or process changes    

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience        
  • 8+ years industry experience     
  • 5+ years of project  management experience    
  • Demonstrate product and industry knowledge                
  • Ability to work within a team with challenging common goals and objectives
  • Ability to be an excellent team player
  • Well-developed influencing skills
  • Ability to build and motivate partnerships
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize
  • Ability to adapt to a changing work environment
  • Good business/organization judgment-ability to make a good business decision
  • Ability to effectively mitigate risk within operations environment             
  • Able to communicate clearly and concisely in all aspects of the job and with multiple audiences in mind
  • Ability to relay difficult decisions or communicate "bad news" effectively
  • Establishes  trusted long term credibility and relationships, anticipates risk and delivery priorities and proactively escalated to management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects through effective time management and project management
  • Ability to develop innovative and creative solutions
