Job Overview

The Embedded Control Officer Senior Officer is a senior level position responsible and act as Escalation Champion and determine escalation level and requirements for Ops Event Owner and provide guidance, partnering with Owners of Issues on remediation design and roll out throughout lifecycle (with focus on Issues (Level 1-3), understand and challenge risk drivers and commentary provided by Operations Management, identify items that may require further escalation or involvement for additional teams to allow closure, agree and execute (with Ops Senior Management) targeted process reviews - reviewing processes end to end with a goal of trying to identify any control weaknesses which require remediation, provide ad hoc targeted training/ case study reviews in relation to key control related topics to Operations staff, review and approve any "low-code" solutions prior to them being moved into Production. Highly motivated and experienced Senior Risk and Controls Analyst with a strong background in Management Information Systems (MIS) and a solid understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts and applications. The successful candidate will be instrumental in identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring risks across our operations, with a particular focus on technology-driven risks and the integration of AI into our control frameworks. This role requires a proactive individual who can bridge the gap between traditional risk management practices and emerging technological advancements.

This role is specifically focused on the LATAM region, with an expectation to support other regions where necessary to ensure alignment on control. The position would suit an experienced financial risk and control environment who can confidently work with senior business leaders and advise on complex and sensitive matters, to ensure Citi growth strategy aligns to the established risk management model

Responsibilities: 

• MIS Reporting & Analysis: Develop and maintain robust MIS reports and dashboards to monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) and control performance indicators (CPIs). Provide insightful analysis of risk data to support strategic decision-making.
• AI Governance & Assurance: Contribute to the development and implementation of AI governance frameworks, ensuring ethical use, transparency, fairness, and accountability of AI systems. Perform assurance activities over AI models and their associated data.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends in risk management, MIS technologies, and artificial intelligence to continuously enhance our risk and control capabilities.
• Support the safe growth and management of the Citi Markets business line and its associated higher risk segments through robust risk mitigation.
• Identify and assess risk, vulnerabilities, and opportunities for efficient and effective risk coverage.
• Work within team and across business/functional line management to assess complex issues, structure potential solutions, and drive effective resolution within permissible statutory and regulatory frameworks.
• Evaluate and respond to escalated matters, further escalate as required, and advise senior management on next steps as needed.
• Participate in and evaluate New Product and New Activity proposals including performing an Markets Risk framework analysis.  Provide advice to the businesses regularly on new business initiatives, new products, business acquisitions, and client-related matters with respect to applicability of policies
• Develop a consistent communication and partnership with critical stakeholders in LATAM team, including Product and Controls regional leaders 
• Review and approve any "low-code" solutions prior to them being moved into Production

Qualifications: 

• 15+ years of experience in operational risk management, compliance, audit, or other control-related functions in the financial services industry.
• Ability to identify, measure, and manage key risks and controls.
• Track record leading Control related projects and programs
• Ability to see the big pictures with high attention to critical details.
• Develop and implement strategy and process improvement initiatives.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Citi’s businesses and functions and their risk profiles.
• Developing new ideas and improving current processes to proactively mitigate risks.
• Requires an ability to provide challenge and make recommendation for risk and controls remediation.
• Expert knowledge in the development and execution for controls.
• Proven experience in control related functions in the financial industry.
• Proven experience in implementing sustainable solutions and improving processes.
• Expert understanding of compliance laws, rules, regulations, and best practices.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex risk and control activities and processes.
• Ability to deliver compelling presentations and influence executive audiences.
• The candidate must be fluent in English,  Portuguese- both verbal and written.
• Strong sense of accountability and ownership, with strong results orientation.
• Excellent communication skills; ability to engage and inspire across stakeholder groups.
• Exceptional command in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Education: 

• Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred

Necesitamos que esta persona cuente con Ingles y Portugues Fluido y sea un experto en manejo de Microsof office, en especial Excel, Power Point y Word.
