The Citi AIM team is a global community that objectively connects and analyzes information, to create actionable intelligence for our business leaders. It identifies fact based opportunities for revenue growth in partnership with the businesses. The function balances customer needs, business strategy, and profit objectives using best-in-class and relevant analytic methodologies. To accomplish this, the group focuses on linkages of information, tools and analytics.

Role Outline/Job Summary

The role of Data Scientist is part of Analytics and Information Management, based in Bangalore and reporting into the VP / AVP of the team.

The scope of work includes solving business problems using data and statistical / ML techniques (including NLP) and mentoring junior members of the team to build strong capabilities to solve business use cases in Big Data environment. 

The work will include understanding the business problem and the key deliverable using Data Manipulation, Data Analysis, Feature Engineering, statistical modeling & ML, while maintaining the flexibility to switch amongst work streams based on business needs. 

Key Responsibilities

• Develop new Solutions that have high impact on revenue, expense management or customer experience.
• Strong Expertize in Deep Learning and Machine Learning techniques
• Make consistent and tangible contributions towards developing  capabilities in Pyspark , Deep Learning and NLP, Customer Journey mapping, Query reduction and Issue Identification for CX Org
• Manage stakeholder communication and drive the POC till production.
• Ensuring the MRM approvals of the models and build MRM document.
• Build strong domain expertize by effective communication with the business
• Be Forward Compatible - Generate new ideas, concepts and models .Explore new problem solving methods; Question and validate assumptions; Escalate identified risks and sensitive areas in terms of methodology and processes
• Research and Development: Keep abreast of the latest developments in the Deep Learning  space including the latest techniques, packages , tools etc across industry and explore their usage in banking industry.
• Talent Development: Supporting in training the resources and getting them future ready

Key Deliverables

• Collaborate with business teams to understand the challenges and innovatively come up with solutions to meet their requirements POC Execution:
• Work on multiple project/unstructured problems businesses are facing across markets, look at providing solutions that go beyond traditional methods – Using advanced technologies and new data sources Research and Development:
• Keep abreast of the latest developments in the analytic space across industries for potential uses. Provide technical matter expertise on deep learning to the team and the center.
• Engage with Technology and other teams for deployment Implement best practices for data manipulation and analysis for deep learning and big data environments Supporting in training the resources and getting them future ready

Qualifications

Masters in a numerate subject such as Mathematics, Engineering, Operational Research, Business Administration from Premier Institute or a track record of performance that demonstrates this ability.

Expertise Required

• Big Data – HIVE/ Pyspark
• Programming – Python
• Strong expertize in Machine Learning and Deep Learning (NLP an added advantage)
• Very good written and verbal communication ability in an educational style. Ability to express thoughts and concepts clearly.
• Ability to work well with a variety of people and to show team-player attitude regardless the scope of responsibilities.
• Drive innovation within the team by exploring and implementing new techniques in the area of Deep Learning .
