Team / Role overview:

The Enterprise Reconciliation & Balance Sheet Integrity organization is currently seeking a manager to oversee a team of analysts performing monthly integrity checks governing the completeness and integrity of Operations Balance Sheet Exceptions reporting (BSER).

The successful candidate will manage a team within the Reconciliation and Reporting Integrity function, responsible for ensuring the integrity of accounts reported in the Operations BSER by validating the reporting data to the general ledger, validating the correctness of key values and identifying and effectively escalating any potential risks. This will provide opportunities to interact and gain insight into multiple product and business lines globally, as well as gaining exposure to senior management within Operations and Finance.

What you'll do:

• Lead a team of analysts responsible for performing the monthly reporting integrity process for all in-scope balance sheet accounts globally
• Investigate the root cause and drive resolution of reporting exceptions flagged by the process
• Ensure all exceptions are accurately narrated and key risks highlighted as part of the monthly reporting cycle
• Manage self and team effectively, always ensuring readiness to provide updates on investigations, communicate known risks, and agree resolution plans where appropriate
• Liaise with Operations and Finance stakeholders to understand differences of methodology in reporting and work to create alignment
• Advise on risks, appropriateness of controls, improvement needs and best practices in relation to the monthly reporting integrity process
• Recommend enhancements to the existing practices including the implementation and development of new capabilities where necessary
• Maintain a strong partnership with account owners and in-business control teams to ensure consistency where appropriate and document differences where they will continue to exist.
• Ensure full compliance with escalation protocols and relevant Citi policies and standards
• Focus on quality, accuracy and risk mitigation

What we need from you:

• Experience within Financial Services
• Management experience
• Demonstrable experience in a reconciliation or control environment
• Experience in Operations advantageous but not essential
• Good analytical skills with the ability to recognize key issues / implications and escalate on a timely basis
• Experience with MS Excel at intermediate or above is a must
• Understanding of basic project management disciplines, particularly processes mapping / documentation
• Good interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff
• Self-motivated, with strong organisational skills
• Able to consistently work to exacting standards of accuracy
