Team/Role Overview
The Senior Vice President, Equities Business Management & Risk and Control will play a critical role in leading and strengthening the Equities COO support to the Equities Division. This combined role requires a seasoned professional to manage and evolve a robust business management infrastructure while simultaneously enhancing the risk and control environment globally.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving strategic initiatives, ensuring regulatory adherence, optimizing business processes, and mitigating operational risks working directly with Sales and Trading desks / Business Heads, Technology, Middle Office, Compliance, and other support functions both regionally and globally.
This position requires strong leadership, analytical acumen, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels to foster a culture of effective risk management and operational excellence. For the right candidate, the role offers significant opportunities for career growth, providing the ability to enhance equity product expertise within a Markets Business with solid plans for growth.
What you’ll do
Lead the ongoing management and evolution of the governance, control, and supervision framework across Equities including Equities owned risk issues and event management.
Provide administrative and operational business support across the Equities COO team which includes global headcount management activities and managing critical records.
Partner with Compliance to develop and enhance content of applicable policies and training.
Coordinate audit and assurance coverage for Equities.
Interact with Markets Central Risk & Control teams, Compliance, Internal Audit, and other control functions to drive forward control enhancement initiatives.
Be active in E-Trading Policy & Standards Optimization, including ensuring adherence to requirements and creating high-quality documentation.
What we’ll need from you
Industry Experience: Significant experience in financial services, with exposure to Equities businesses, or Operational Risk Management, Audit, compliance or other control functions
Risk & Control Acumen: Deep domain knowledge of risk management, control frameworks, regulatory requirements, E-Trading policy, MiFID, and governance processes.
Strategic & Analytical Skills: Ability to balance strategic priorities with tactical actions, make quick decisions, and possess strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Communication & Influence: Excellent written, oral, and listening communication skills, with proven ability to interact effectively and present to senior management and distributed teams across regions.
Leadership & Management: Proven track record in leading / managing analytical and operational teams
Technical Aptitude: Strong technical focus, with an aptitude for leveraging technology to improve and streamline processes.
Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage internal resources, stakeholder coordination, complex projects, and business initiatives.
Education: Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience is desired
