PBWM Technology @ Citi
We believe in the power of diverse, talented teams that collectively allow us to help bring our best thinking to our customers, clients, and communities, and we empower our employees to bring their full selves to work. Women in technology at Citi help build innovative products and tools that make an impact on a global scale. We help ensure our employees have the resources and opportunities needed to fulfill both their own potential and Citi’s potential for our clients. Your responsibilities here will vary based on where you and your team sit, but you will help shape financial technology for our company, the industry and our customers – today and tomorrow.
Women in IT Program
In 2014, PBWM Technology started a Women in IT program with a mission to help create a sustainable and scalable ecosystem that will fundamentally change how we attract, develop, and retain students in order to employ and develop their technology skills at an earlier age. To date, we have reached over 50,000 students across the U.S. We also started a Women in IT internship program for high school and college students, hosting over 330 interns so far, many of whom interned with us year after year, and are now working for PBWM Technology full time.
Head of Tech Workforce Planning
“The ‘Women in IT’ program enables top-tier talent to grow their technical skills while learning about all the nuances of our industry.”
Enhanced Customer Engagement Program
Our Citi® Self Invest platform enables growth and progress by allowing clients to meet and achieve their long-term financial goals through a seamless end-to-end digital experience. Our PBWM Technology team has partnered with our Risk and Control partners to simplify account opening processes and modernize the architecture to uplift the technologies. The teams built the foundation to support future roadmap and infrastructure needs to scale the application to achieve future demands. The results of this Citi-built browser trading experience include enhanced engagement through a unified browsing and search experience for trading, insights and news, and provides clients with a deeper understanding of how they can build wealth with us.
Decision Engine Optimization
Our Personal Installment Lending project is a prime example of tech stack modernization and simplification that will see Citi move to a robust and strategic infrastructure. The purpose of the project is to move to a new credit decision engine and core processing platform for the installment lending product, which will enable Citi to give out personal installment loans to mass market customers for whatever their financial needs. As well as being a major win for customers, the project is elevating the profile of our teams with senior management, exposing employees to new learning experiences, and bringing teams together to build new relationships and celebrate their hard work and success.
The Citi Custom Cash® card technical team empowers customers to earn and redeem rewards on purchases. Fully embracing Citi’s “Mobile First” vision, the Custom Cash technical team conceptualized, designed, and delivered first-to-market capabilities for customers to apply for a new credit card directly through innovative software only a few months after the software launched. The teams leveraged HTML5 responsive design, containerized microservices, and mobile SDKs to deliver this and other intuitive capabilities for approved customers to begin using their card digitally, immediately upon approval, and to track rewards earned in real-time.
The core vision of this project was to revamp the banking experience for our customers in order to make their lives easier by delivering Citi’s most relevant guidance, offers, and content at every stage of their relationship. This innovative product is offered through a seamless end-to-end digital experience. Our talented teams within PBWM Technology redesigned key features like the Citi.com homepage and dashboard while building and leveraging scalable frameworks. This has helped expand multi-relationship customer population, increase overall digital engagement, expand data-driven personalized dynamic experiences, and more. The results of this Citi-built browser trading experience include enhanced engagement through a unified browsing and search experience for trading, insights, and news. Additionally, it provides clients with a deeper understanding of how they can build wealth with us.
Through Citi’s business capabilities, policies, and philanthropy, we are taking action to advance gender equity within our walls and in communities across the globe. Our workforce is constantly evolving and developing, benefiting from a strong mix of internal and external hiring into new and existing positions.
As the world’s most global bank, diversity is a top priority for us. We aspire to foster a welcoming, inclusive culture that attracts the best of the best. We’re continuing to focus on our aspirational goals to increase the representation of women and underrepresented groups by 2025. Our goal is to steadily progress the percentage of C12+ female talent represented in our global workforce to 43.5% and increase the representation of North American Black colleagues to 11.5%. We have a strong dedication to expand the U.S. representation of Hispanic and Latino colleagues to 16%. Similarly, we’re continuing to grow our talent by attracting Brazilian Black and Pardo colleagues, with a goal to increase this group to 10%. Over in the U.K., we’re focusing on cultivating diversity, with goals to increase the representation of Asian colleagues to 11%, Black colleagues to 3% and mixed ethnicities to 3%.
