The Specialized Analytics Lead Analyst is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. Requires basic commercial awareness. There are typically multiple people within the business that provide the same level of subject matter expertise. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.

Responsibilities:

  • Incumbents work with large and complex data sets (both internal and external data) to evaluate, recommend, and support the implementation of business strategies.
  • Identifies and compiles data sets using a variety of tools to help predict, improve, and measure the success of key business to business outcomes.
  • Responsible for documenting data requirements, data collection / processing / cleaning, and exploratory data analysis; which may include utilizing statistical models / algorithms and data visualization techniques.
  • Incumbents in this role may often be referred to as Data Scientists. Responsible for developing and maintaining models.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of experience
  • Extensive Experience in Consumer Banking
    • Deep understanding of consumer banking products such as credit cards, retail banking, and loans.
    • Expertise in various banking functions including Marketing, Risk Management, Operations, Fraud, AML/KYC.
    • Ability to develop business cases to identify opportunities for cost savings, revenue enhancement, and customer experience improvements.
    • In-depth knowledge of banking regulations, guidelines, and governance (e.g., Reg B, ECOA, SR 11-7) and experience handling audits.
    • Experience with Model Risk Management practices.
  • Advanced Data Science and Technical Skills
    • Expertise in data retrieval, manipulation, and analysis, with a strong ability to solve complex analytical problems.
    • Experience in A/B testing and experimental design to support model development and business decisions.
    • Deep knowledge of algorithmic techniques, including Clustering, Decision Trees, Collaborative Filtering, Linear and Logistic Regression, Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, and Neural Networks.
    • Strong expertise in Feature Engineering.
    • Proficiency in developing and deploying Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Generative AI models.
    • Experience with Cloud-based ML platforms (e.g., AWS SageMaker, Google Vertex AI, Azure, Snowflake).
    • Solid understanding of Big Data architecture (e.g., Hadoop) and version control software (e.g., GitHub, Bitbucket).
    • Proficient in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, and PySpark.
    • Advanced understanding of data collection, exploration, visualization, and statistical analysis.
    • Experience in exploring and experimenting with generative models (e.g., OpenAI, Google Gemini, Vertex Llama) for business applications.
    • Strong understanding of model evaluation metrics, best practices, and the ability to apply them to ensure high model performance.
    • Ability to contribute to technical documentation and ensure compliance with Legal, Fair Lending, and regulatory requirements.
    • Understanding of linear optimization techniques for solving business problems.
  • Soft Skills & Leadership
    • Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, with the ability to develop analytic presentations and communicate insights effectively.
    • Exceptional ability to build partnerships and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
    • Agile mindset with a focus on rapid experimentation and iterative development of new models and solutions.
    • Strong project management and time management skills, ensuring timely and successful project completion.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language.
    • Expertise in creating compelling presentations and decks, tailored to various audiences including executive leadership.

Education:

  • Bachelors/University degree, Master’s degree preferred.

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$138,720.00 - $208,080.00
