Background & Position Summary

Citi US Branded Cards (US Cards) is a market leader in the credit card industry. US Branded Cards maintains its leadership position by delivering industry-leading products, advanced services and payment systems that address clients’ evolving needs.

This role is part of the US Branded Cards Proprietary Product Management team, within the larger US Cards organization. We offer a combination of class leading proprietary credit cards such as Citi Simplicity, Citi Double Cash, and Citi Rewards products as well as co-branded credit cards with iconic industry leaders such as Costco, American Airlines and AT&T.  These value propositions are supported by our proprietary Thank You rewards program, a broad range of digital lending programs such as Flex Loan and Flex Pay, and industry leading digital experiences. Our mission is to drive profitable, sustainable growth in the Proprietary Card portfolio by leading in mass market borrowing and utilizing relevant, high impact marketing.

The Citi Value (Non-Rewards) portfolio is one of the largest in US Cards - with the most cardmembers and generating the highest revenue within Citi Proprietary Cards business.  This portfolio is a significant strategic focus for the organization, with high visibility and attention given its size and profitability.  The Company has significant investment in this area and the need for new approaches to growth is urgent and requires fresh, innovative and highly analytical thinking.  This role is a high impact and high profile, requiring frequent updates to senior management and collaboration across Product, Marketing, Acquisitions, Analytics and Risk teams. The successful candidate will define and manage a robust growth strategy to attract the right prospects with the right offers across existing acquisition channels, as well as work to identify new opportunities for growth.

Key Responsibilities

Segment Growth

  • Develop a long-term Value acquisition strategy across all channels, optimizing offers, targeting and returns
  • Define a comprehensive approach to the portfolio product mix with consideration for each product appeal and profitability
  • Develop a comprehensive learning agenda to inform future offer and targeting strategies
  • Partner with marketing and analytics partners to identify profitable marketing investments and to manage acquisition forecasts (PERA) to ensure accurate strategy reflection

Risk Management

  • Partner closely with Risk partners to prudently manage portfolio growth across consumer segments
  • Work with Risk to evaluate and test opportunities for target universe expansion

Segment Health

  • Drive critical analyses into specific customer trends to further define growth roadmap, including new offers and marketing opportunities
  • Monitor ongoing acquisition performance, evaluating each product separately and combined, to ensure profitable returns and overall portfolio growth

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, accounting, engineering, mathematics, statistics, business, computer science or related quantitative discipline
  • Experience with banking and investment products and comfort with credit card P&Ls
  • Ability to develop strategy, gather resources, and inspire a diverse set of individuals
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Project management and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Working knowledge of credit card industry and competitor products/services
  • Working knowledge of credit card industry practices and standards

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience; Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience must include
    • Strong communication skills particularly in writing; designing slides and presentations to persuasively make the argument and particularly in designing analyses that specifically support arguments
    • Strong drive and initiative – able to push forward in face of multiple priorities and obstacles – extremely practical bent of mind towards planning and getting things done
    • High degree of comfort with structuring analysis using large datasets
    • Strong analytical skills, particularly with financial management and forecasting; high degree of comfort with credit card P&L’s. Experience in scenario development and forecasting to aid in business case development for portfolio growth and marketing investment. Very comfortable in vintage analysis and impact on financials over time
    • Deep strategic experience in credit cards and the credit card industry, particularly in the impact of various decisions on financial performance

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$144,480.00 - $216,720.00
