Team/Role Overview

We are part of global compute and operations team, we support about 24K Dev/UAT/Prod/COB UNIX/Linux servers across three regions (APAC/EMEA/NAM) following Sun support model ensuring work-life balance. Server estate that we support includes mostly RedHat Linux with a mix of VCS clusters/standalone and physical/virtual servers. Team is of subject matter experts who maintains server integrity, security, and stability. We extend ourselves as a trusted partner to our clients and drive various infrastructure projects and automations.

What you’ll do

We are looking for an experienced and skilled Unix administrator to join our team. The Unix Admin is responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of our Unix systems. The day-to-day responsibilities include troubleshooting server errors, responding to user issues, coordinate and implement changes among various infra teams, understand and maintain servers to latest security standards and drive infra projects. A successful candidate should be able to quickly recognize trends and issues, identify existing risks, foresee upcoming risks, and take the necessary steps to eliminate them.

  • Applicant would be the face to application partners from UNIX operations perspective & acts as an interface between stakeholders such as Application, Prod support, Database, Middleware, and Datacenter teams.

  • Provide Architecture and design reviews for the client app teams , troubleshoot and fix issues reported by user, system, or wellness reports.

  • Perform OS checkout post build/upgrade & ensure application health status by coordinating with respective application/ Prod Support team.

  • Remediate compliance KRI issues, maintain servers to the Citi security standards, and maintain stability of servers.

  • Responsible for capacity monitoring, analysis & forecasting of resources and ensure to have adequate resources for infra/ application stability.

  • Design COB architecture, its implementation, and maintain COB Test procedure including automation. Supporting high availability, fail-over, fallback using Cluster Server using native & third-party tools.

  • Participating Major Incident calls on time & ensure timely recovery of the services to clients. Perform Root Cause Analysis from SA perspective for all issues and third-party vendor co-ordination where applicable.

  • Perform change reviews, approvals and participate in Change advisory meetings when required.

What we’ll need from you

  • 5 years’ experience in RedHat Linux administration is recommended, but not required if candidates prove strong technical skill and right attitude.

  • Applicant should possess knowledge of server support, Veritas Clustering, GPFS, shell/perl scripting and Ansible automations.

  • We are looking for a self-motivated experienced professional with good communication and technical skills.

  • Applicant should be willing to take up challenging tasks, collaborate with the team and builds partnership with our clients.
