Banking Controllers are part of Finance Department, primarily responsible for controlling daily profit and loss reporting, balance sheet and expenses for all business. This position is in a Capital Markets origination team, which covers P&L and balance sheet on daily and monthly basis for Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets and M&A. We work closely across functions on a daily basis (Front Desk, Business Management, Risk Management, Operations, and other areas of Finance) and develop a deep understanding of the products offered, along with the associated market risks and accounting complexities.

The Banking Controller Intmd. Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for ensuring the completeness, accuracy and integrity of the bank's books and records in coordination with the Finance team. The overall objective of this role is to control and support data integrity and general ledger reconciliation, insight and analysis around Product P&L and balance sheet reporting.”

Key responsibilities:

  • Daily and monthly reporting of P&L (Profit and Loss) for EMEA Investment Banking (Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets and M&A), including control and analysis of the underlying transaction data
  • Daily and monthly Balance Sheet including review of business level drivers and correctness of system data
  • Daily review and analysis of PAA (Profit Attribution Analysis) including new trades, MTM and associated commentary on key risk factors and market moves
  • Monthly reconciliation between reported P&L and the General Ledger.
  • Improve Finance processes and strengthen the Control environment as well as ensuring great communication across Product Control and other functions like Valuation Control team, Front Office team and Operations across number of local CEEMEA countries and UK London

Key skills and qualifications:

  • University/College degree in Finance/Accounting as well as 2 years of Finance related experience
  • Technical skills – strong skills in Excel is a must.
  • Nice to have: Knime and programming skills (VBA, SQL).
  • Good Understanding of Financial Instruments (bonds, equities), capital markets and Balance Sheet.
  • A disciplined and dedicated individual contributor, who proactively seeks to improve the existing controls and streamline processes.
  • Fluent spoken and written English and strong communication skills, as well as energy and motivation to work in Finance area.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
