Data Governance Officer

The Data Governance Officer is responsible for contributing to the directional strategy and assisting in creation and modification of Data Governance strategy, Data Risk control framework and Data Risk taxonomy at Citi Handlowy. The focus of this role may be on one or more of the following areas: assisting in identification, measurement and reporting, data policy adoption and compliance, data controls framework performance and issue management process, and regulatory and audit response and action tracking.

Responsibilities are complex and require considerable maturity, independent judgment and initiative as well as the use of data analysis and business problem solving skills. This role requires a strong attention to detail and good project management skills. Strong communication skills are required to guide and influence business partners.

Responsibilities:

• Defining data management strategy, as well as designing and supervision of an effective data management model at Citi Handlowy, in compliance with local regulators recommendations and Citi best practices and standards

• Defining and updating internal data management policy, establishing standards (including controls and metrics) in the field of data management and data quality

• Defining roles and responsibilities related to data management in the Bank

• Oversight and analysis of data-related issues, tracking ownership and target dates and associated metrics and reporting

• Coordinating and executing quarterly data quality assessment process for Citi Handlowy

• Preparing executive materials for senior audience meetings, e.g. Management / Supervisory Board of Citi Handlowy, Citi Handlowy BRCC, Citi B&I Data forums

• Preparing high-quality inputs for audit or regulatory examinations, cyclical regulatory submissions, etc.

• Leading respective working groups in the development and implementation of the data governance framework; in particular, leading a group of Data Stewards from across Citi Handlowy

• Working closely with Banking & International Data Team to adapt Citi’s best practices regarding Data Governance for the benefit of Citi Handlowy

• Designing and maintaining a robust Manager’s Control Assessment (MCA)

• Increasing the awareness of the Bank's employees about their responsibility for ensuring appropriate data quality and reporting problems related to their quality

Qualifications:

• Relevant experience in a Data Governance/ Data Management/ Process Engineering or related area

• Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred

• Strong project/programme management experience

• Experience with cross-functional / business delivery, ideally with a large data component

• Ability to monitor tight deadlines or unexpected requirement changes, with the ability to anticipate and balance needs of multiple stakeholders

• Ability to communicate effectively to develop and deliver multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences

• Fluent Polish and English
