The Payroll Analyst is a developing professional role. Applies specialty in the Payroll and Garnishment area knowledge in monitoring, assessing, analyzing and/or evaluating processes and data. Identifies policy gaps and formulates policies. Interprets data and makes recommendations. Researches and interprets factual information. Identifies inconsistencies in data or results, defines business issues and formulates recommendations on policies, procedures or practices. Integrates established disciplinary knowledge within own specialty area with basic understanding of related industry practices. Good understanding of how the team interacts with others in accomplishing the objectives of the area. Develops working knowledge of industry practices and standards. Limited but direct impact on the business through the quality of the tasks/services provided. Impact of the job holder is restricted to own team.

Responsibilities:

  • The Payroll Analyst performs business analysis for Payroll operations organization.
  • Support assigned system and process transactions for On and Off Cycle payrolls following established process flows developed for all job transactions.
  • Balancing inbound/outbound files- ensure timely processing; performing full reconciliation back to Payroll system; researching and correcting any rejects; and working closely with file owners.
  • Balancing withholdings and funding of pay cycles.
  • Authorize payments via banking payment systems.
  • Responding to all inquiries within service level agreements.
  • Communicate professionally, effectively, timely and courteously with employees, HRs, and stakeholders contacts on highly complex payroll issues.
  • Performs more complex tasks in support of the team manager and area projects as assigned.
  • Creates and implements internal procedures and business requirements.
  • Works under little to no direct supervision and supports an expansive and/or diverse array of products/services.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 0-2 years relevant experience in a related job that would provide a basic knowledge activities, policies, and procedures of the work area.
  • Demonstrated understanding of how the team interacts with others in accomplishing the objectives of the area.
  • Specialty area knowledge in monitoring, assessing, analyzing and/or evaluating processes and data.
  • Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with focus on excel
  • Strong time management skills and ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Workday experience a plus
  • Excellent customer service orientation

  • Works well individually and as part of a team

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$58,656.00 - $72,350.00
