Citi’s US Personal Banking business serves Citi’s home market with the largest consumer wallet in the world.  It is supported by our evolving technology ecosystem that will modernize our infrastructure and allow us to deliver user-centric products.  The Credit Cards and Lending business within the US Personal Bank provides a range of payment, credit and unsecured lending solutions to consumers and small businesses.  The business continues to innovate, launch new products, extend partnerships, and provide new digital capabilities for a rewarding customer experience.  The role of Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst or Entry Level Developer, is a member of the technology team for the Credit Cards and Lending business.

The Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst is an entry level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.


Responsibilities:

  • Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancements, including using script tools and analyzing/interpreting code

  • Consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues, and recommend programming solutions, install, and support customer exposure systems

  • Apply fundamental knowledge of programming languages for design specifications

  • Analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues, as well as conduct testing and debugging

  • Identify problems, analyze information, and make evaluative judgements to recommend and implement solutions

  • Partner with senior level engineering team members to provide programming solutions as needed

  • Resolve issues by identifying and selecting solutions through the applications of acquired technical experience and guided by precedents

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.


Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience and/or a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, business, or related field

  • COBOL preferred, not required and will be taught

  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) with extensive experience using Excel for data analysis 

  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

  • Ability to work in collaborative work environment

  • Adaptable to unexpected changes in business requirements

  • Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

$71,810.00 - $100,190.00
