Loan Processing Analyst (hybrid)
The Loan Processer performs moderately complex and varied assignments. Most of the impact is related to quality of execution. Works with limited supervision. May service an expansive array of products/services. Demonstrates technical/administrative expertise. Applies specialized functional area skills and basic knowledge including underlying professional/technical principles or standards. The technical procedures for this level are well defined. Understands how duties relate with others in the team/unit and how the unit integrates with others in accomplishing the work of the function. Exchanges moderately complex information with others. There may be occasional handling of awkward contacts. Basic knowledge of the organization and its policies required. Applies research, information gathering and analysis skills to factual information. Applies judgment based on practice and precedence. Selects the best course of action from a broad array of defined options, understanding the consequences of each.
Responsibilities:
- This is an entry level underwriter position. The position must maintain all requirements as defined in the Credit Authorities Policy and Procedures, including minimum decisions and credit quality standards. Under limited supervision, underwrites routine and basic individual loans with lowest level of credit authority in accordance with company guidelines and procedures.
- Assists with file flow and pipeline management activities as directed by management.
- Reviews residential mortgage applications for approval, following program guidelines set by Citicorp Mortgage inc. and the Agencies in a timely manner while focusing on quality.
- Works with all areas of the business to resolve pipeline issues, escalations, and concerns.
- Attends weekly meetings and review communications regarding program changes and updates.
- Assists in special projects as requested by Management to ensure monthly closing/funding goals are met.
- Resolves routine underwriting questions and problems and refers more complex issues to higher levels.
- Performs other duties and functions as assigned.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years experience
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to listen and explain decision/concerns clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work as a member of a team.
- Good customer service skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to multi task in a fast paced environment.
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent
