Background & Position Summary

The American Airlines AAdvantage Cobrand Product team sits within the U.S. Branded Cards business unit. With over 36 years of history, the Citi/AAdvantage Cobrand program is one of industry’s largest travel loyalty credit card programs. The Citi Product Management team collaborates with American Airlines to design and market a suite of consumer and small business credit cards that use the airline’s loyalty program currency, travel assets, and marketing channels. The team is responsible for defining the strategy for most aspects of the card program, including product value propositions, loyalty marketing, above-the-line advertising, new account acquisition marketing, P&L management, and customer experience.

Key responsibilities

The VP, Product Innovation & Development will be responsible for identifying, prioritizing, and implementing product development initiatives to support account growth, customer engagement and systemic infrastructure for the American Airlines Cobrand Card portfolio by:

  • Defining and launching new products, features and capabilities and participating in technology development and market launch activities
  • Managing and leading negotiations with American Airlines to secure approval of MVP technology requirements and AA technology prioritization
  • Identifying opportunities in partnership with Digital Customer Experience teams to provide customers with a seamless digital experience and optimizing touchpoints through thoughtful placement of portfolio assets and client personalization
  • Serving as the product and American Airlines partner champion by collaborating with and influencing all internal teams to ensure strategies drive product engagement and profitability

Candidate Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant product management or program management experience
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to details
  • Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a strong desire to learn and grow professionally within a complex business
  • Experience working independently and effectively in a fast-paced matrixed environment with a proven track record of solving problems and delivering solutions
  • Strong project management and critical thinking skills
  • Intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn about marketing and servicing strategies
  • Strong customer focus and growth mindset
  • Strong relationship and client management skills desired
  • Bachelor’s degree required

$142,320.00 - $213,480.00
