Citi Corporate Strategy supports the Executive Management Team in driving the firm’s vision to be the preeminent banking partner for institutions with cross-border needs, a global leader in wealth management and a valued personal bank in our home market.  Within Corporate Strategy, the U.S. Personal Banking and Wealth Strategy team supports two of Citi’s five interconnected business:

  • U.S. Personal Banking (USPB) generates $19+ billion revenue and includes the Branded Cards and Citi Retail Services businesses, which together are the #2 U.S. credit card issuer, as well as the Retail Bank, which has #1 rank in deposits per branch
  • Wealth generates $7+ billion revenue and includes the #5 Global Private Bank, Wealth at Work, which has leading market share with U.S. Law Firms, and Citigold, which is consistently named the “best bank for high-net-worth clients” and has a strong presence in the U.S., Hong Kong, and Singapore

As the USPB and Wealth Strategy Manager, you will analyze, develop, and support pragmatic and actionable strategies to drive growth and returns for Citi’s USPB and Wealth businesses. To do so, you will need to build strong working relationships with business leaders and functional partners across USPB, Wealth and Citi to become a trusted partner in evaluating strategic opportunities.  Additionally, you will partner closely with Finance and other cross-functional partners to assess opportunities and prioritize investments.  You will lead project-based teams and develop, coach and mentor junior talent.  This role reports to the Head of USPB and Wealth Strategy and works closely with the broader Corporate Strategy team. 

Core Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop strategic opportunities to grow USPB and Wealth and deliver accretive returns to shareholders
  • Deliver thought leadership on external market and industry competitive trends
  • Manage the strategy cycle end-to-end – assembling the fact base, executing rigorous analysis, developing actionable recommendations, and tracking implementation and results
  • Partner with USPB and Wealth business heads and functional leaders to ensure buy-in and alignment
  • Deliver tangible value and measurable P&L impact
  • Own the annual planning process and preparation of USPB and Wealth strategy for the Board of Directors
  • Collaborate with Citi Corporate Strategy teammates to ensure USPB and Wealth strategy recognizes and captures the full potential and interconnectivity of Citi’s businesses
  • Manage and coach high performing project-based teams to deliver results and support rising talent in a long-term career at Citi
  • Maintain a strong Controls environment

Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience in financial services, strategy and/or management consulting, ideally with experience in consumer banking, payments, and/or wealth management
  • Ability to develop and apply strategic frameworks, deliver insight through rigorous analysis, and synthesize recommendations into fact-based and practical solutions executed with urgency
  • Intellectually curious and motivated to deeply understand needs and perceptions of both customers and employees
  • Results-oriented: takes pride delivering practical, executable strategies that drive long-term shareholder value
  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate an executable strategic vision
  • Demonstrated track record of coaching and mentoring others to achieve their highest potential
  • Strong knowledge of corporate finance relevant to financial institutions
  • Excellent stakeholder management and partnership skills and ability to build credible and trusting relationships across Citi
  • Builds strong network of relationships among peers, internal partners, external constituencies and decision makers to deliver results.
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and written/verbal communications skills.
  • Collaborative partner and teammate focused on franchise-level results
  • Self-motivated, highly adaptive and able to work well in a demanding environment
  • BA/BS required, MBA preferred

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$176,720.00 - $265,080.00
