Markets Analyst - C15 - NEW YORK
Spread Products (“SP”) is a global franchise within Citi’s Markets division that provides financing, securitization, and secondary sales & trading capabilities to support issuer and investor clients.
As a global franchise, SP’s activities include origination, structuring, investing, lending and market making across products including corporate and emerging market bonds, asset-backed and mortgage-backed securities, collateralized loan obligations, short term interest rate products, loans, letters of credit and derivative instruments. The team also provides underwriting, secondary trading, securitization, project financing, warehouse lending, commercial, residential and affordable housing financing. Citi Velocity is an award-winning, web-based platform, delivering Citi Research, Market Commentary, proprietary models, data and analytical tools for the Citi Sales & Trading business.
This leadership position will be responsible for the development and delivery of Citi’s independent market data solutions for Spread Products asset classes. The role will be responsible for building out the team’s methodologies for producing accurate, transparent, and reliable data, together with the commercialization strategy aligned to the needs of our global client base. Responsibilities also include working in close partnership with our franchise leading trading desks and the Citi Velocity platform to design a suite of services that leverage the full breadth of Citi’s market insights, intellectual property, and expertise to deploy these services through a comprehensive strategy designed to provide clients with intuitive solutions that remove friction and enrich the client experience.
The role requires a broad and comprehensive understanding of fixed income asset classes, with additional expertise in technology solutions for market data analysis and delivery. Candidates are expected to come with strong market participant relationships and experience executing on a product and services delivery strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team responsible for producing market data solutions for Citi’s global client base and accountable for delivering revenue targets.
- Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive commercialization strategy for Citi’s market data solutions and services including market assessment, pricing strategies, and go-to-market plans to drive successful adoption by Citi’s clients.
- Define, align, and execute a cohesive strategy across the business and key functions ensuring synergy and optimal utilization of resources to achieve identified business goals focused on excellent client experience, service quality and efficiencies in trader workflow.
- Foster and cultivate strong cross-functional relationships with leaders throughout the organization, including trading desks and functional partners, and collaborate effectively to drive alignment, facilitate communication, and develop sustainable and systemically responsible solutions.
- Develop and maintain a strong external network among market participants.
- Develop innovative ways to expand Citi’s market data solutions and services to meet client needs.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Citi policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications / Key Skills:
- 10+ years’ experience in financial services with a specific focus on fixed income asset classes and market data solutions.
- The individual must be able to articulate client needs and demonstrate track record scaling solutions and developing partnerships with vendors.
- Proven record in successfully commercializing products or services, with a demonstrated ability to navigate market complexities, drive innovation, and deliver tangible business results.
- Experience negotiating multi-year strategic partnership relationships and an ability to demonstrate the organizational value (e.g., revenue and returns) associated with the relationships.
- Ability to operate and influence across various c-levels internally and externally to deliver the stated outcomes.
- Strategic mindset coupled with analytic and financial acumen.
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize information, prioritize objectives and drive results in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to translate data and metrics from across different constituencies to create clear and concise executive presentation materials.
- Highly organized and meticulous.
- Possesses excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Promotes a culture of collaboration and teamwork across organizational boundaries; willing to break down business and/or functional silos to optimize results.
- Franchise player; broad, critical thinker, initiative-taking; comfortable working with ambiguity.
- Organizationally savvy; understands systems, management processes, knows where to go for information and how to interpret.
- Pragmatic problem solver, forward thinker with independence of thought.
Education:
- Bachelor's/University degree, Masters preferred.
