This role supports Citi’s Internal Audit (IA) organization through the development and deployment of engagement activities and communications for colleagues across the global function. Collaborating closely with the Chief Auditor and senior leaders within IA, the role is responsible for driving strategic communications and engagement initiatives and change programs in support of the function’s purpose and strategy. The role works closely with key partners including Human Resources and Enterprise Services & Public Affairs to ensure the smooth running of operational activities relating to communications and engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, execute and manage IA communications and engagement strategy.
  • Manage and continue to evolve IA messaging, driving key messages in a consistent manner across the organization and providing resources to support the cascade of communications by senior leadership.
  • Develop and execute on a dynamic and engaging quarterly town hall in partnership with Citi’s Chief Auditor.   
  • Partner with Strategy & Change Management team to support the adoption of strategic change initiatives across IA including those around technology and methodology.
  • Create and disseminate communications to the IA function through channels including but not limited to newsletters, town halls and other live events, video, IA page on intranet, Microsoft Teams, and other digital channels for IA colleagues; support the maintenance of IA-owned channels.
  • Oversee the development of written and visual content, including but not limited to internal memos, talking points, social media posts and video scripts, that align to key messages and are clear, conversational and engaging in tone. Develop creative communications strategies to break through and resonate with colleagues.
  • Create and oversee a communications program to further stakeholders’ understanding of the Internal Audit function’s activities and impact.
  • Proactively plan for communications and engagements activities, effectively managing towards deadlines and looking ahead at opportunities on the horizon.
  • Measure communication effectiveness, as needed.
  • Lead activities to engage and support IA colleagues as aligned with organizational goals and colleague feedback.
  • Support content development for regulatory presentations, as needed.
  • Identify and pursue external speaking engagements to position Citi Internal Audit within the industry as a best-in-class audit function, thought leader and employer of choice.
  • Lead a small team of professionals and support the development and performance management of team members achieve a standard of excellence. 
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency; effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, communications, marketing, or another related field.
  • At least 10 years of increased responsibility in communications and employee engagement roles, preferably with a large and complex organization.
  • Strong project management skills; skilled in planning, organizing, prioritizing, and executing simultaneous projects and activities, producing high-quality deliverables and adhering to strict timetables.
  • Strategic and creative thinker who brings forward thoughtful and innovative ideas to how we approach the work.
  • Effective negotiation skills, a proactive and 'no surprises' approach in communicating issues and strength in sustaining independent views.
  • This individual must be an articulate and effective communicator, both orally and in writing.
  • Executive presence to work with senior leaders with an energetic, charismatic, and approachable style.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with all levels of internal and external audit and senior management; energetic, charismatic and approachable style.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track-record in managing teams and making a positive impact on the organization.

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$163,600.00 - $245,400.00
