We are seeking an experienced and strategic Product Owner to lead the development and management of a unified data platform for our global Wealth Management business. This pivotal role is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end data lifecycle in the data warehouse, including data ingestion, curation, and distribution. The ideal candidate will ensure that data is modeled according to business requirements, adheres to enterprise data standards and complies with regulatory and organizational policies. This is a high-impact role that requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate with cross functional teams to build a best-in-class data ecosystem that drives business insights and decision-making.


Responsibilities:

  • Unified Data Warehouse Development

    • Define the vision, strategy and roadmap for data in the Unified Data Warehouse to support global business needs

    • Oversee the ingestion, curation and distribution of data to ensure timeliness, accuracy and usability

    • Collaborate with engineering and data teams to implement scalable, efficient and secure data pipelines

  • Data Modeling and Standards

    • Lead efforts to model data appropriately for analytical and operational use cases, ensuring alignment with business requirements

    • Establish and enforce data standards, including naming conventions, metadata management, and data definitions, to promote consistency and usability

    • Partner with enterprise architecture and governance teams to ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements

  • Compliance and Governance

    • Implement data governance policies and procedures to maintain compliance with enterprise and regulatory standards (e.g. GDPR, CCPA, BCBS 239)

    • Ensure proper access controls, data lineage tracking, and audit capabilities are in place for all data assets

    • Advocate for and drive adherence to enterprise data security and privacy best practices

  • Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication

    • Serve as the primary liaison between analytics, business, and IT Teams to ensure alignment on objectives and deliverables

    • Translate business needs into technical requirements and prioritize them effectively within the product backlog

    • Provide regular updates to senior leadership on progress, risks, and opportunities related to the data warehouse

  • Continuous Innovation and Optimization

    • Partner with platform teams to continuously optimize processes for managing structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data at scale with the express objective of reducing time to market while improving robustness and quality

  • Leadership and Change Management

    • Lead cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and innovation to delivery high-impact solutions

    • Drive organization change to promote the adoption and utilization of the Unified Data Warehouse

    • Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for team members


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in product ownership, data management, or analytics roles with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity

  • Strong familiarity with Wealth Management data domains in a large financial services firm

  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based platforms (e.g. AWS/GCP) and modern data tools (e.g. Snowflake)

  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various teams and organizations to get the job done

  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, compliance requirements, and regulatory standards

  • Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging technical and non-technical audiences

  • Strategic thinker with a pragmatic approach to solving complex data challenges

  • Strong data analysis skill (e.g. SQL) along with an understanding of technical patterns used to consume and process data at scale

  • Extensive experience working with engineers and developers to understand what is technically possible, how to translate customer’s needs into technical requirements that delivers scalable, reliable, and standardized data solutions

  • A proven track record of problem-solving, adaptability, and creativity in addressing complex challenges.


Education:

  • Bachelors/University degree, Master’s degree preferred; managerial experience
