We are seeking a visionary and results driven Product Owner in the Data, Analytics & Innovation (DAI) Team to lead the development and delivery of a comprehensive toolkit for data management at Citi Wealth Management. This role requires a strategic thinker with expertise in analytics, data management, and financial services. The individual will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize time-to-market for data movement, improve data quality and lineage, and enable a scalable and efficient data ecosystem that supports business objectives. This is a high impact role that places the individual at the forefront of transforming data into a competitive advantage for the business. Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership

    • Define and execute the product vision and strategy for data management tools, aligning with organizational goals

    • Advocate for the value of data quality, lineage, and efficient data movement in driving business insights and out comes

    • Influence executive stake holders to secure buy-in and drive alignment across business functions

  • Product Development

    • Own the product roadmap for the data management toolkit, prioritizing features and functionalities based on business impact and ROI

    • Collaborate with engineering, data and analytics teams to design, build, and enhance tools and processes for:

      • Data integration and movement

      • Data quality assurance

      • Metadata management and lineage tracking

    • Evaluate emerging technologies to ensure the toolkit remains innovative and future-ready

  • Optimization of Time-to-Market

    • Identify and remove bottlenecks in the data pipeline to accelerate data delivery for business analytics

    • Develop automated, scalable processes to reduce manual interventions and improve operational efficiency

  • Data Quality and Lineage

    • Implement robust frameworks and governance processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness

    • Develop tools and dashboards for tracking and visualizing data lineage to support regulatory compliance and auditability

    • Partner with data stewards to ensure adherence to data standards and policies

  • Cross-functional Collaboration

    • Act as the primary interface between analytics, IT, compliance, and business teams to drive alignment and collaboration

    • Translate business needs into technical requirements and vice versa, ensuring clarity and feasibility

    • Provide leadership to Agile teams, serving as the voice of the customer and guiding prioritization

  • Change Management and Training

    • Lead change management initiatives to ensure adoption and effective use of the data management toolkit

    • Develop training materials and programs for end users and stakeholders to maximize tool utilization and value

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in product ownership, analytics, or data management roles

  • Proven track record in financial services, particularly in building and scaling analytics and data platforms

  • Experience with leading digital initiatives as a Product Owner in Agile development process

  • A sound understanding of data management concepts, including data movement, quality, governance, and lineage, data warehousing concepts and data modelling approaches

  • Familiarity with data tools and technologies (e.g. ETL platforms, data lakes, metadata management systems, data quality tools)

  • Strong data analysis skill (e.g. SQL) along with an understanding of technical patterns used to consume and process data at scale

  • Extensive experience working with engineers and developers to understand what is technically possible, how to translate customer’s needs into technical requirements that delivers scalable, reliable, and standardized data solutions

  • Strategic, results-driven and passionate about designing best-in-class digital experiences and staying at the forefront of cutting-edge technology in data space

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various teams and organizations to get the job done.

  • A proven track record of problem-solving, adaptability, and creativity in addressing complex challenges.

  • Bachelor's Degree required, advanced degree is a plus

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in financial services (e.g. GDPR, BCBS 239)

  • Knowledge of Wealth Management business
