Responsibilities
The Head of Capital Planning Transformation is a newly created senior management level (MD) position within the Capital Planning Organization that will report to the Global Head of Capital Planning. The individual will serve as an integral member of the Capital Planning Leadership team. This new role is a key position within the newly structured Capital Planning Transformation efforts.
This role will report to the Head of Capital Planning and support Citi’s strategic initiative to define, develop and implement an enterprise-wide governance and management framework for Capital Planning and Management. This multi-year effort will transform the firm’s current Capital processes, people and platforms to ensure consistent risk identification, reporting, and management with supporting governance, procedures and controls.
The position will have a high level of visibility within the organization and engage regularly with the Executive Management team. The role will be required to interact with and present to senior leadership and will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on Capital in discussions internally and with external regulators. The role will also work directly with other Finance and non-Finance functions throughout Citi, including the Businesses, Risk, Treasury, Financial Planning & Analysis, as well as Enterprise Technology, & Operations.
Responsibilities:
Drive execution for the Capital Transformation book of work to on-time completion
Deliver sustainable solutions in partnership with stakeholders across Finance, Technology, the lines of defense and lines of business
Work with key business and technology and operations stakeholders to eliminate delivery and execution obstacles to ensure change throughput is optimized.
Act as a strategic advisor to peers and program leaders in the implementation and adoption of frameworks, methodologies and tools.
Execute against multiple contending priorities simultaneously
Proactively manage potential challenges and dependencies
Ensure project objectives and governance and oversight requirements are met
Identify emerging execution risks or issues and actively derisk and escalate
Develop and present executive management and Board level presentations that clearly articulate progress, risks, challenges and solutions
Partner with Finance and Enterprise Transformation offices
Actively engage with IA on transformation efforts and solutions
Partner with Risk & Controls team to maintain and enhance an effective internal control’s structure.
Identify processes for improvement and participate in process reengineering efforts
Utilize standard reporting processes
Manage a team of change and finance professionals
Qualifications:
15+ years of relevant experience within the financial services industry required, preferably with a GSIB
15+ years managerial experience including managing across geographies and multiple locations.
In depth knowledge of Capital Planning and banking products/systems, including CCAR
Able to navigate through a large organization to streamline and summarize multiple information points and create repeatable processes to build consistency in presenting information.
Exceptional communication skills, with ability to synthesize complex concepts, and influence change.
Strong technical problem-solving skills and an ability to identify conflicts, discrepancies and other issues and bring together the right team to solution them.
Strategic mindset with the ability to plan ahead to future possibilities and translate them into breakthrough strategies.
Ability to manage competing priorities and tasks in a complex and dynamic and work well as part of a team.
Proven track record of successfully guiding teams through complex, large-scale change
Exemplary written and oral communication skills required ability to synthesize key messages and "storytell"
Experience and confidence in interfacing with executive management
Ability to see the "big picture" without losing attention to detail
Motivation and a desire to challenge the status quo wherever appropriate
A willingness to think strategically and to act pragmatically
Strong influencing, facilitation, and partnering skills
Ability to work with teams as well as independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
This role requires multi-tasking, organization and the ability to quickly acquire and comprehend the required knowledge
Education:
Bachelor's/University degree required, Master's degree preferred.
