The Ethics Director will report to Citi’s Head of Ethics.  This position will be responsible for managing a team responsible for the effective oversight of ethics-related investigations in Markets, Services, and Wealth, as well as matters in the Asia South; Europe; Japan, Asia, North & Australia; and Middle East and Africa clusters.

Responsibilities are:
• Serve as a partner and advisor on the handling of all concerns reported to the Ethics Office.
• Lead a team responsible for evaluating concerns reported to the Ethics Office and determining the handling and assignment of matters to the appropriate investigative partners (Employee Relations, Legal, Citi Security and Investigative Services) with a demonstrated understanding of relevant regulatory, policy, and reputational considerations. 
• Establish strong relationships with investigative partners in Employee Relations, Legal, and Citi Security and Investigative Services (CSIS), as well as other stakeholders in HR, Independent Compliance & Risk Management (ICRM), and Enterprise Services & Public Affairs (ESPA), to effectively lead team in addressing concerns submitted to the Ethics Office (EO), in accordance with EO processes, global strategy, and operational excellence. 
• Provide guidance and support a team that effectively advises on and oversees the investigation of matters reported to the Ethics Office, including providing independent credible challenge and timely, thoughtful guidance to investigative partners in Employee Relations, Legal, and CSIS.   
• Resolve and determine an appropriate path forward when there are differences of opinion regarding investigations, demonstrating judgment in managing the different risks posed.
• Lead a team to effectively manage a portfolio of matters; including prioritizing numerous matters simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, and responding clearly and pragmatically to urgent situations.
• Exercise operational responsibility for planning and execution of end results for the team’s full portfolio of matters.
• Review and proactively provide feedback on closure summaries and support the team in continually improving such summaries to be accurate and concise.
• Oversee the preparation and analysis of reports to be distributed to business and/or board committees, senior management, auditors and regulators, including on the Ethics Office’s most significant matters.
• Present on matters, trends and themes, and/or the Ethics Office program to senior management, auditors and regulators, and legal vehicle boards.
• Oversee the preparation of accurate responses to ad-hoc requests for information regarding Ethics Office matters from internal and external stakeholders, including relevant regulatory authorities, while preserving confidentiality obligations. 
• Lead workstreams to evaluate new laws, regulations, and policies in jurisdictions around the world that may affect Ethics Office operations and make recommendations for any required operational changes.
• Lead and assist with other Ethics Office initiatives as needed, including presentations and other engagements with investigative partners, stakeholders, and the general employee population. 
• Stay abreast of relevant Citi business and function developments in order to effectively carry out responsibilities. 
• Understand and apply Citi’s business priorities and take ownership of change to support an agile Ethics Office process.
• Additional duties as assigned.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policies, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$170,000.00 - $300,000.00
