Position Objective
The India Operations Business Execution Lead is responsible for driving key Business Execution deliverables enabling the Operations organization to achieve its day-to-day goals and long-term priorities & commitments with focus areas including Governance, Controls, Client & Franchise and People/Culture.
The role is responsible for supporting India operations and Operations Head in driving and executing cross-Operations strategy and goals. The International Operations Business Execution team drives the overall commercial and administrative activities of the business. These tasks include governance and regulatory/audit engagement support, risk & controls, change and project management, employee engagement, internal communications and managing events, people/talent strategy, among others.
The role will report into the Asia South Operations Business Execution Head and the India Operations Head and will partner with country and cluster Business Execution and Operations Management teams to ensure appropriate governance from a country perspective, in alignment with global Citi standards and practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively support the India Country Operations Head in driving strategic Operations priorities and its execution with key focus areas on Operations Governance, Regulatory and Audit Engagement, Resiliency & Controls, People, Client & Franchise and Financial Management.
- Timely delivery of commitments and deliverables including materials/decks, updates, communications, townhalls, knowledge documents, newsletters, projects tracker, action items from weekly meetings/ reviews/visits/other meetings.
- Prepares, presents, and interprets major reports and governance materials for Boards and Committees
- Responsible for working closely with Country Operations Head, managing, and coordinating meetings.
- Supports and monitors key initiatives and projects within country through the collection, analysis, review, reporting, documentation and communication of business needs, requirements, and other relevant data.
- Assess risk and adheres to policies, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.
- Actively identifies improvement opportunities across Operations and drive adoption of best practices across Operations processes and teams in the country.
- Advance Operations organization/people strategy goals including talent development and employee engagement initiatives. Deliver communications and engagement action plans across Operations in the country.
- Coordinates, oversees, and supports India management communications across all channels in partnership with Corporate Communications function, HR, regional management, etc.
Qualifications
- Experience in Banking / Operations / Business Consulting required. Business Management experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience working in global and complex settings with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong Risk and Control awareness and knowledge of control practices
- Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of Citi’s core businesses – Services, Markets, Banking and Wealth, including Operations preferred.
- Operates in an environment that is dynamic, fast-paced, requires creative solutions, quick thinking, multi-tasking, high energy, and timely turnaround.
- Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; can positively and productively add impact.
- Capable of doing extensive research and business reviews to facilitate strategic initiatives.
- Strong, influential communicator who is articulate and concise; Proven ability to autonomously create clear written communications (samples of prior work will be requested).
- Experience in working with global/regional teams to strategize and execute country level programs/initiatives.
- Capable of functioning as a collaborative partner and value-added business contributor to the senior management team.
- Superior organizational abilities and proven abilities to deal with ambiguity and complex situations and conflicting priorities.
- Strong strategic thinking and planning ability
- Strong investigative and analytical skills for problem solving
- Ability to multi-task and handle changing priorities while executing on numerous deliverables simultaneously.
- Assertive and self-confident to challenge status quo and propose diverse ideas
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship management skills
