Program Manager Lead (PMO)
The Strategic Initiatives organization’s role is to partner (Key Enabler) with senior leaders across the Services, Markets, Banking and Functions (SMBF) technology organization to ensure proper governance over our top Strategic Initiatives, provide end to end program management for our key regulatory programs that are cross asset/cross LOB and to provide governance over special projects coming out of the COO. This position is part of a global team spread across Europe and North America with a mix of program managers/analysts and senior strategic process engineers.
The Role
We are looking to bring in a Program Manager within the Strategic Initiatives organization to provide PMO oversight for our Cross Asset Regulatory programs and to help manage internal initiatives driven by the SMBF Tech Chief Operating Office (COO). Internal initiatives will vary but may include productivity improvement, investment planning or other special projects. The candidate will execute a wide range of activities related to the governance, monitoring, tracking and reporting of various initiatives. The role requires strong program management skills and an ability to adapt quickly to different areas of focus. This role also requires strong people skills, as the candidate will actively interface with the SMBF Tech Lines of Business as well as with the broader COO team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide PMO governance oversight for key strategic initiatives managed by our program management team.
- Provide end to end program management for internal initiatives being run out of the SMBF Tech COO.
- Orchestrate and drive the successful and timely completion of projects to achieve the business goals.
- Perform Risk and Issue management, with a focus on bringing stakeholders together to identify and remediate risks early on.
- Identify potential pitfalls and make recommendations and solutions for proposed Business challenges.
- Manage communications to ensure senior managers are kept apprised of progress and conduct periodic reviews with work stream leads and key stakeholders.
- Facilitate forums to bring teams together to plan or resolve issues.
- Develop and maintain excellent client relationships with the SMBF Tech Function PMOs and Business Execution Managers.
- Collaborate with leadership, sponsors, champions and change agents to drive and govern adoption of changes to program and project management tools and processes.
- Partner with process engineering team to project manage productivity initiatives.
- Support other SMBF Tech COO functions and special projects.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of work experience in Project Management or Program Management.
- Possess excellent influencing, facilitation, and partnering skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail, accuracy, and trend identification.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Understanding of systems development lifecycle concepts (i.e., Waterfall and Agile).
- Flexibility and business savvy to navigate a complex, highly matrixed organization.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
