The Markets Treasury In-Business Risk (IBR) is a Front Office 1st Line of Defence team responsible for market risk in the Global Markets Treasury Team. The team is missioned to establish a holistic understanding of market risk including new and emerging risks, capital of the business, as well as to optimize the business’s return on capital

The Business Risk Officer is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. Requires basic commercial awareness.

What you will do will be varied day to day, but the key drivers for the role are:
•    Understand the key market risk drivers of the business and identify new and emerging risks
•    Analyse drivers of PAA and work on remediation efforts to further enhance PAA and overall P&L reporting
•    Monitor business capital footprint and work on initiatives to optimize capital usage through detailed analysis of the drivers of items such as GSIB, stress losses and RWA
•    Understand, support and drive the implementation of FRTB at Citi within Global Markets Treasury
•    Work with 2nd Line of Defence on risk utilisation including annual and quarterly limit review

What we will need from you:
•    Knowledge of front office trading with a focus on Linear Interest Rate and FX Risk beneficial
•    Strong analytical, transformation and problem-solving skills required, data analytical skills such as python and SQL are highly preferred
•    Ability to collaborate and clearly communicate in written and verbal with senior members of an organization
•    Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain partnership with Trading desks, second line of defence, quantitative, technology and controls teams
•    Must have strong attention to detail, be self-motivated and intellectually curious with an interest in financial markets, trading and macro economics
•    Gravitas and influencing skills to enable collaboration and decision making across the breadth of the organization 

Education:

Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, STEM Master’s degree preferred
