EMEA Equities E-Trading: Business Manager, VP

Job Background:

The Equities business is seeking an experienced professional to manage the project deliveries, E-Trading governance, corrective action plans and audits for the Equity Derivatives, Delta One and Cash E-Trading activities. This Business Manager role will work closely with the wider Equities E-Trading team, Business E-Trading Flow owners, Product Development, Technology and Risk & Controls teams and will report directly into the EMEA Equities CAO.

An effective governance, supervision and control framework for E-Trading Business is critical to the continuing existence and success of the Global Equities business. This arena has undergone a period of significant and rapid change in response to increased global regulatory scrutiny and expectations for Operational and Compliance Risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Equities E-Trading business to drive a robust and globally consistent E-Trading framework compliant with internal policies and procedures.
  • Support the Business in E-Trading change management process including coordination with various stakeholders (Technology, Compliance and Risk Management).
  • Work with the Business Supervisors, Technology & Control partners to efficiently build target state E-Trading controls, system alerts, and re-engineer processes to ensure effective and best in class controls ensuring consistency in application between all regions and countries.
  • Support the Business in regulatory remediation and Consent Order workstreams and deliverables where E-Trading is impacted.
  • Facilitate E-Trading Governance and remediation across the Equities business and stay abreast of electronic trading and distribution developments.
  • Facilitate and as required participate in ad-hoc reviews and regulatory / supervisory examinations of the wider Equities E-Trading business.
  • Represent Equities in E-Trading related transformation initiatives to ensure business control requirements are understood and incorporated into global control designs and solutions are fit for purpose.
  • Govern Citi's E-Trading documentation, including but not limited to, Business Procedures, Conduct Risk Assessments, Application/Flow/Strategy/Controls Inventory, Gap Analysis, Architectural Diagrams, Models, Continuity of Business, Disaster Recovery plans.

Development Value:

  • Develop a detailed understanding of the Equities businesses, products and processes and how it operates within a large organization, which spans across more than 25 countries
  • Build a deep understanding of the evolving regulatory landscape, with a focus on E-Trading, and how it impacts the business.
  • Establish forward looking trigger events and horizon scanning activities to help continue to evolve E-Trading risk identification and management.
  • Opportunity to develop and expand external network of 1st line of defence professionals with peer organizations through external roundtables.
  • Develop a global network of contacts within Equities, Markets Central Risk & Control teams and other control and infrastructure groups.
  • The role involves exposure & partnership with business and desk heads across Equities and involvement in other global projects.
  • Create strong partnership with functions including product development and technology to provide end to end visibility of material E-Trading risks.
  • Build effective prioritization skills as the job entails dealing with multiple conflicting priorities in a time pressure environment.
  • Successful candidates will have the opportunity for future career progression within the Markets business.

Skills:

  • Subject matter expertise in E-Trading required, preferably Equities and Listed Futures & Options products.
  • Strong understanding of E-Trading regulatory requirements (MIFID II, RTS-6, PRA SS 5/18, etc.)
  • Strong comfort level engaging with technology to understand system implementation and be able to work with large sets of data (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL)
  • Self-starter with experience operationalizing governance/control framework with experience in developing E-Trading related KRIs and KPIs
  • Purpose driven, highly motivated, collaborative, team player with strong attention to detail, capable of prioritizing and multi-tasking in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Strategic thinker, with dynamic problem-solving capabilities and a focus on innovation
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex problems simply and concisely at all levels
  • Experience in delivering change-related projects, proactively drives process improvements and re-engineering opportunities
