Team/Role Overview:

The Client Executive group within Securities Services is responsible for owning, developing and growing our platinum and priority client relationships ensuring client satisfaction, revenue growth, and client profitability and efficiency.

Through senior relationship engagement, the Client Executive should fully understand the strategies executed by their clients and look to develop those relationships to enhance the footprint of Citi products with the clients and provide cross product coverage, with primary focus on Custody & Clearing as well as the wider Securities Services Product Suite (Fund Services, Execution Services etc.). The Client Executive may also be expected to act as the senior escalation point for their client relationships in the event service levels or where specific projects require senior management involvement from Citi.

What you’ll do:

Key responsibilities:

Relationship Management

  • Build long lasting trusted client relationships – be a trusted advisor, act as clients’ advocate within Citi.
  • Lead and coordinate negotiation of all legal contracts and business / risk updates (with oversight from Legal and Product).
  • Provide clients with thought leadership on regulatory, industry and product solutions.
  • Work in partnership with Citi teams and the client in order to ensure Citi is a top provider for the client.
  • Understand existing and future products to propose recommendations to clients and grow revenues.
  • Ultimately responsible for Knowing the Client (KYC) and all associated approvals.

Financial

  • Client-facing role responsible for the retention of existing revenue and the generation of new client revenues.
  • Understand the client wallet, drive organic growth, and identify and execute cross-sell opportunities.
  • Accountable for client profitability and efficiency.   
  • Negotiate pricing and terms for new products (in partnership with the Product organization).
  • Deliver the firm: refer business to firm-wide partners.

Client Satisfaction

  • Serve as an escalation point to engage client when Client Services or Account Management roles cannot resolve.
  • Accountable for client satisfaction, working with internal teams to ensure quality delivery, adherence with Service Level Agreements and governance of the overall relationship internally and with the client.
  • Perform and/or oversee regular client reviews to determine overall client satisfaction and govern the action plans to address client concerns.
  • Drive continuous enhancement of Citi products and services to our clients working with product, operations and tech partners.

What we’ll need from you:

  • Significant experience in a global financial institution with experience in client relationship management.
  • Experience of managing by influence and demonstrated ability to manage complex issue resolution.
  • Self-starter, good problem solver, results oriented.
  • Proven track record of cross-selling skills.
  • Ability to take ownership and execute solutions with appropriate urgency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the confidence to handle external meetings and senior-level discussions with clients.
  • In-depth level of knowledge of the Direct Custody business and broader awareness of the Securities Services industry and the Financial Institutions client segment.
  • Ability to multi-task and constantly assess and change priorities in line with the demands of the business and client-base.
  • Willingness and motivation to maintain a steep learning curve, keeping updated with the business, client demands and global market developments.
  • A strong understanding of the regulatory, risk and control environment impacting the securities services business.
